how to get axe men

hello i am new player i have some spear fighters swords and headquarters at level 10 barracks at level 5 smithy level 5 and says my axe men have not been researched yet ? what else do i need ?

Click on your smithy, and then click "Research Axemen"

Hey beagle,

i got your mail, however i'm not sure why it isn't working.

"i have done that 3 -4 times in last 2 days / still says have not been researched yet not high lighted tho i went to hq level 10 barracks now level 6 smithy level 5 and can start my stables ."

Anyone got any ideas?

I was thinking possibly you don't have enough resource. You seem to have the correct building requirements.
