A bugfix has been released for the following bugs:
Logout: now actually logs you out instead of just deleting the cookie (there was a mysql error due to outdated code).
Colour settings: Changing continent and sector line colours should now apply without a reload.
Translations: Text didn't break at several locations if the text was longer than the original English text.

A usability/timesaveing suggestion - the ability to draw lines with click and drag would save a lot of click-start click-destination click-save oh fuck, delete that, click use-start-and-destination, click-save.
Also lines with arrows (i.e., directional lines) could also be useful. I do love the upgrade with the easier scrolling around the map.

It's fairly hard to introduce drag-draw features, and considering the low amount of users who use line drawing, it may be better to put that effort into improving other parts of the tool (there is still a lot to do). I'll add extra line styles on the to-do list though, since that's fairly easy to implement.

I was checking some various data related to the recent release of version 3 and its effect on the server:
Tribe and player history (excluding conquers and tribe changes) for all supported servers amounts to 218 million rows (individual entries of data) for the last 4 weeks.
On average, over 10.500 different continents are loaded daily (on different servers of course, since there are 100 continents per server), Tribal Wars Map currently supports 332 servers.
The first week of May had an average of 331.820 hits per day, compared to 266.905 during the first week of April, the majority of the new hits are towards the graphs and continents.
Amount of data sent to Tribal Wars Map users has doubled, traffic in and out will reach approximately 1.400GB this month.

Well, ti would be really helpfull if you add just a new position in handmenu, like the circles one Or, in other way - just like in travelling time. Easier to use, without manually filling forms

I have to ask about the new feature of TribalWars seen in ver 6.+ - military camp. Is it possible to see it on Tribal Map ? :> Is it possible to seek for that in Tribal Map ?

The other question, (yes, I know I've already asked for that ;p) that minimal zooming out, could be decreased to 3% ? :>

Sincerely,

Akhal

P.S. Rude question - can the translation be updated? ;>

1: There's set start and set destination for that, open the Line drawing tab and click "Use start and destination".
2: It's on the to-do list.
3: Not many strings have been updated in the Polish translation yet, and there's still 5% to go, it's quite an effort to update/implement a translation (no automatic system yet), so I prefer to wait until a bit more changes have been made.

I've updated the translation tool, because of the fairly large amount of spam entries by bots, I've added an IP-based captcha to validate if you are human, so you have to fill it in once per IP (if you have a static IP you will only see it once, otherwise you will see it a maximum of once per computer session, depending on how often your IP changes).

Going on from my earlier idea, other potential ways to make drawing lines easier

1). Make "Use start and destination" a checkbox, and then make it autoupdate when the user changes either start or destination

2). Make it simply click start, click destination.

1: That sounds like a good idea to add as a default-on option, it is fairly logical for the tool to draw a line between your start and destination automatically.

2: I'm not sure what you mean, but if you mean having a trigger so that when you click a coordinate on the map, it is set as start/destination, it'd be fairly hard to put such a feature into words (so users understand that this feature exists/what it does), and where would such an option be put?

I don't think I explained myself about point 2.

Have a button "Draw Line"

When you click it, it comes up with a box at the side, the current box showing line size, colour etc.

The user then clicks the first village, those co-ordinates become the start position of the line.
Then they click the second, these co-ordinates become the terminator of the line.

Probably then a confirmation box, but that is not strictly necessary.

The error will be fixed in the next patch or hotfix, the error itself isn't serious enough to warrant a hotfix of its own though. Next patch will be out in a week or so.

About the military camps.

Is it possible to create an item, object in tribal map, which can be used as a military camp - to count the travelling times or drawing lines to imagine the plan, strategy for attacks ? I am a tactic master ;) in my tribal, and I need a tool to prepare moves of about 1 hundred ppl, and it would be usefull for me if I could something like that What is the problem. The 'empty' coordinates can't be used in tribal map

I'll see about adding it to the to-do list, however most features you describe can already be done without adding such a feature, you can set a non-existent coordinate as start/destination manually, and you can also draw lines to and from non-existent coordinates.

The tool has been updated to version 3.01, adding one new feature:
A line is now automatically drawn between your start and destination coordinate.

It is primarily a bugfix update. You may notice the width of the settings panel has been increased, this is to accommodate other languages needing more space. I've tried other options, the logical ones (having it expand depending on the width required) but was unable to find a cross-browser solution that did not require changing the code too much.

Another very simple UI fix/improvement - when you click search, have the keyboard cursor jump to the search input field. This can probably be done for other functions as well, you know your program better than I do.

lol nagging much? :P

Added to the to-do list, it'll be implemented in the next minor patch.

It's definitely a feature that should be implemented, since it is a common feature a user expects from web pages.

On another note, some of you may have noticed the "Cannot connect to database" warning, it appears mostly at midday and midnight CET, when the historical data is updated (data is stored twice a day for 2 data points/day graphs). I've spread out the updating a bit, it should update in a timespan of ~6 hours now, compared to ~2 hours. A server upgrade is necessary and long overdue, I'm looking into upgrading options but that can take a few months.

Do you mean you'd like to be able to configure the marker colour?
