Now let´s take a look at this, not long ago W8 had 35k players and K21 wasn´t even open yet, but in a short period of time W8 has grown by 90k members, what has changed you ask, well for one thing W8 is now the oldest open world.

It seems that a lot of newbs want to make it big by joining and old experienced world and stuff like that, but I am going to take a look at how many players are really contributing to this world, using a general estimate off at 0.1% of the leading players points....then using the following equation I will estimate how many players will be playing this world (as opposed to going grey within a month of creating your account

W=125,000-Y
X=Y/125,000
Y=Players above 3.5k
Z=Players that will play

Y+0.75(X*W)=Z

Bear in mind this is just an estimate

W=116,500
X=6.8%
Y=8500

8500+0.75(0.068*116,500)=14441.5

So my guess is that around 14,500 people will play world 8 with anything in mind

Now that I have established the fact that 1.5k-2.5k total rim players will play (the remaining 2.5k-3.5k players that will probobly play are semi-rim since they are further established and thus less likely to quit) let´s look at the fact that they in essence have unlimited rescources due to the 100,000 abandonds that will be on the rim (40k's so 2500 ABANDONDS a K meaning K´s full of abandonds) so their growth will be phenominal IF they learn to be good players, my question to you is:

Will rim tribes ever be a real influence on world?

nice to see the world is alive :D

unlike other world W8 tribal member limit is 500 so a tribe can recruite without noblings and expand in a large area , rim tribes will be the first to get the new players and the first to destroy the smaller tribes and absorb them

the tribes that rule in a single K here are weak since other tribes can easily jump them by recruiting first , so i don't see much future for tribes starting in K01 and such

on the other hand the war spreading from the core to the mid rim (BLOC vs former abc and company) is turning these tribe's attention to the middle so it could give the rim tribes a stalling chance

though if we look at it from afar , we can see that some rim tribes made it to the top (OMEGA, Fenix, F.D, ..etc) but they did it though the reason mentioned and by sheer diplomacy

so in the end for the question :

if they talk good , know their way around the game .. they will , if they don't .. they're toast



all this contridiction made me thirsty :icon_eek: ..

I noticed myself a sudden increase in players and you only have to look at the rim to see how condenced it is!

K45 was the most condenced K - now, it's got a run for it's money, take a look at K5 for example.

This world has still got what it takes!

and that explains why the world has suddenly gone really slow...
I think rim tribes will eventually stand a chance to do something, if they all hide under the BLOC radar and can somehow get organised they could eventually get to a stage where they could do something.
may find a few players growing quickly on the rim and put up a strong fight when BLOC gets out to them.
alternatively they will all get crushed for being n00bs

it's fun being a huge deterrent against rim tribes by making a 30 village cluster dead center of a rim k.

i do my part in stopping families from forming. Almost like freshmen in highschool that huddle together as safety in number.. then big jock comes around and wedgie every one of them.

Surely the Rim tribes should be given a chance? Otherwise they'll be crushed like bugs immediately, and nothing will really change.

If they were left to develop would that not induce healthy competition, and mean more resources for the bigger tribes for when they still probably crush them like bugs?

By the way, I'm a new member (hello :icon_razz:) and a self-confessed n00b, nub, newbie e.t.c. that's just about got the basics of this fine game that I discovered by chance.

It would be nice to think that there is some kind of future for me on this game, instead of everyone (including myself!) thinking my future will inevitably result in defeat by ownage.

Although it probably will! :icon_neutral:

So is there any point in me playing or should I just give up and go to another world or leave this game entirely?

I mean everyone has to start somewhere right? But I can appreciate that there are good times to start, and there are bad, and it would appear I chose a bad time!

I also play runescape, and I'm a pretty high level there, except it's different to this, you can chose pvp or not.

By the way hugh are you in BLOC?. I only ask as you speak of them with respect, although that could also just be due to the fact that they are very powerful and deserve respect.

So would the more experienced players advise me to join another tribe instead of trying to start my own or even join a younger world?

I appreciate the advice of all you vets :)

No, I'm fighting the BLOC.

A different world would be a lot better than quitting totally, it is a good game and you should give it a chance.
It's probably best to start this world and another world, if your lucky you will do well here, if you aren't then at least you have another world where you can keep up with the competition, try w18, that's probably a good world to start on w19 is meant to be very elite.

Thanks for the advice, it is much appreciated. I may very well do that though probably in a couple of months time. This was the worst time I could have chosen to start, I've got exams in 2 weeks and need to be revising now!
