Some of the best .net players I know are solo players that OMG actually sleep for 8ish hours a night and don't use a sitter except in rare emergencies.
However the 535 profiles is still probably owned by about 2000 players. Calculated at almost 4 players per profile.
Ah yes, I love when stats are pulled completely out of thin air. I've got news for you, only 1 person "owns" a profile... anyone else playing on the account is an invited guest. Very rarely do you see accounts with 4 players... 2 is probably the most common, and some with 3. And really, the number of co-players anyone has is not necessarily an indication of their skill level. If you have 3 people on an account and none of them know how to snipe or backtime, you aren't in any better position.
You'll have more fun playing with a friend
Totally true... it is nice to have someone to plan with and bounce ideas off of, which of course is also what your tribemates are for. For a "tribal" game, I see way too many players just trying to go it alone instead of working as a team with a few other players.
True story... w69 was a packet world (and limited hauls), so most people had 1 or 2 nobles in their first village and that was it. So to noble a village, your choices are as follows
* Clear the village with your O, run your 1-2 nobles back and forth as needed, praying to the TW gods that the player is offline and doesn't call for support before you can noble him
* Team up with 3-4 players and set a landing time... You send the clearing nuke, another player times a noble (or 2) behind yours, blah blah, you time the last noble in and conquer the village in under a second
Which choice do you prefer? I use the 2nd one, but waaaaay too many people go with option 1, lose their troops to a stack, and quit.
I actually got accused of cheating because 3 of us timed really well in nobling a guy, and his complaint was that (not even kidding) "it should be illegal for more than 1 person to send nobles at someone"
