Changelog Version 8.137

Dear community,

it has been quite a while since we had a public changelog. But that doesn't mean that we haven't been busy working on the game! Since the beginning of the year the development team resolved 378 tasks. Upon those were 85 bugs which we fixed in the recent months. These ranged from account related issues like players being unable to verify their account, restart on a world or change their username to bigger issues like flags not being properly withdrawn from villages, commands arriving in the wrong order players not getting achievements.

We also worked hard on improvements of our backend infrastructure. For example we implemented a new Push Notification system, to send push notifications more reliably to your mobile devices and be able to track down issues more efficiently. We of course also worked on frontend issues like missing translations or formatting/spacing issues. And last but not least implemented smaller quality of life improvements in several places. For example we made it easier for you to do certain actions, like being easily able to select all villages in the troop request screen. Or we now warn you if certain actions in the game would have automatic consequences; like your troops withdrawing from villages when you leave a tribe. We also continued to work on measures to fight cheating in the game and implemented detections for several popular scripts and bots. We also worked on improving our Android app. We fixed bugs, improved the usability, stability and implemented missing features. And while the app has already improved significantly over the last few months we kill keep working to make sure that you can play Tribal Wars on the go without any issues.

While most of these are smaller changes that are not that obvious, your certainly have seen our bigger changes to the game. We reworked our "Beast of the Black Mountain", "Traveling Merchant" and "Spectaculum" events. We also developed a Server Merge technology to allow our players from smaller language versions to continue playing Tribal Wars on this international version in their own language. Just recently we also released a completely new endgame condition, called "The Great Siege". It is already live on beta (check it out!) and we are very much looking forward to getting it into your hands soon on world 103!

With Tribal Wars turning 15 years this year we would like to thank you for your continued support. Without you we wouldn't have reached this amazing milestone! Your dedication is what allows us to continue working on and improving the game. We are looking forward to the years to come!

Best regards
The Tribal Wars Team

It's love, not just a game!

Changes and Improvements

Scout Info in Simulator
The simulator now shows an overview on which information scouts will be able to reveal.

8137_scout.jpg

Dynamic Group Filters for Resources
Dynamic groups now allow to filter for available resources by fixed amount as well as percentage.

8137_filter.jpg

Top Kills Badges
We added tracking for the top kills as a supporter. We added art for the badges for top kills as supporter, attacker and defender. The later two were already tracked for a while but lacked an icon. These badges can be gained retroactively, but only for worlds which closed after the tracking of this statistic was implemented.

top_player_supporter.png
top_player_attacker.png
top_player_defender.png

Incoming Attacks Player Name Filter
Filtering for player names in the incoming attacks overview now uses an auto-completion. To filter for a player you only need to write parts of the name, the results will automatically be filtered for these.

Auto-Completion Performance Improvements
We also improved the performance of the player name auto-completion feature in other screens of the game. Filtering for player names should now be much faster everywhere.

Reports Sorting in Village Info Screen
The village info screen now sorts reports by the report creation date. Old forwarded reports will no longer show on top.

Village Info Pop-Up improvement
The village pop-up on the map now includes the loyality and wall level of that village.

8137_tooltip.jpg

Push Notification for Tribe Quests
When a tribe gets a new tribe quest, the tribe members will receive a push notification.

Player Names in Reports
All instances of player names in reports now link to the player profile.

Past Contacts
When a world is closed, tribe members will be automatically added as past contacts, making it easier to invite them to a new world.

Scavenging Sitting Restriction
Sitters can now be restricted from using the Scavenging feature.

Feedback

And that's it! These are the changes which were implemented with version 8.137.
If you have any feedback for us, please let us know in this thread. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Update to version 8.140/8.141

Dear community,

Our new update to version 8.141 will be released on Monday the 10th of September around 14:00 CEST. This update mainly brings a few changes to the sitter restrictions and the endgame process of Casual Worlds.

Changes and Improvements

Sitter Access to Inventories
Sitters can now be restricted to no longer be able to use inventory items on the sat account.

Permanent Sitter Restrictions (included in 8.140)
The restrictions to no longer be able to send attacks, supports or execute certain other commands on permanently sat accounts now apply to all villages, not only other player and barbarian villages.

Furthermore, accounts that are being sat too long can now also be restricted to use the Scavenging feature. This option has been enabled automatically on all worlds, for permanently sat accounts, on which the 'attack enemy players'-option is ticked.

Faster Casual Endgame
The steps of opening up the attack protection of the Casual Worlds have been increased, speeding up the endgame and allowing players to attack earlier. This new system will only be active on Casual Worlds that will be launched after this update.

Casual Endgame Screen
Casual Worlds now have an information screen in the rankings informing about the schedule and changes of the automated casual endgame.

Item Transfer to Casual Worlds
The items "Flamboyant Speech" and "Prestigious Resource Package" can no longer be transferred to Casual Worlds.

Simulator Cap
To avoid calculating issues the simulator now has a unit cap of 999,999,999,999 which should be sufficient to simulate any possible battle.

Feedback

These are the changes for version 8.141!

Please keep in mind that the servers might be unavailable during the update for a short period of time.
In case of any delays or additional changes we will update this post accordingly.

Update to version 8.150

Dear Community,
Our new update to version 8.150 will be released on Monday, December 3.
Among other changes this version brings changes to our endgames, automating player rewards and achievements when a world ends.

Changes and Improvements

Endgame changes
From version 8.150 onward the tribes will be locked and rankings frozen as soon as the winning condition is reached. The top players and tribe will be automatically awarded with Premium Points and the respective badges/achievements. To allow for this change to happen the endgame peace time will be removed from the Domination winning condition. Worlds which are currently in peace will be closed when the new update is applied.

Quest Text Improvements
We reworked several quest texts, making it clearer what the goal of the quest is and how it can be achieved.

Loot Assistant Visibility
As new players had problems finding the Loot Assistant made sure it is clearly indicated in the tutorial. Additionally the Loot Assistant button now has a glowing effect hovering effect as well as a tool-tip.

Update to version 8.152

Dear Community,

Our new update to version 8.152 will be released on Monday, December 17.
This version brings some minor bugfixes, a new tutorial quest and changes to the relocation item.

Changes and Improvements

Relocation Item
We simplified the system by which you get the relocation item. Now all players starting on a normal world (which allows for players to choose their starting location) will receive a free relocation item which has to be used within 48 hours divided by world speed (so speed 2 means that the item has to be consumed within 24 hours).

This also applies to invites, restarts and users who join during pre-registration.

New Tutorial Quest
As Tribal Wars features several possible endgame conditions we added a short tutorial quest to check out the endgame screen, to get an overview on the conditions required on the world you are playing on.

Quest Highlights
In the construction screen the buttons for buildings which are part of an active quest are now being highlighted

Casual Domination
The domination endgame triggering on casual worlds now has a 14 days holding period. (This might not apply to casual worlds which started before the update to version 8.152)

Bugfixes

Watchtower Icons
(reported on Tribal Wars International)
Renaming a command detected by the Watchtower no longer adds additional "eye" icons to it.

Tribe Management on Mobile Browser
We fixed an issue with the checkboxes for managing tribe member permissions on the mobile browser version not showing up.

Update to version 8.154

Dear Community,
Our new update to version 8.154 will be released on Tuesday, January 22nd.
Next to some bugfixes this version brings a change to the account sitting system, improvements to the troop templates, a new resource request option in the market and other improvements.

Changes and Improvements

Account Sitting
Due to ongoing issues with the Account Sitting system we have decided to limit the amount of accounts which can be sat by a player to three. Players who are currently sitting more than three accounts will not be able to accept additional accounts, until they have the reduced the amount below the limit.

Troop Templates
Troop templates now allow you to send all units of specific type by selecting the "All" option. Additionally you can now send all units of a type, minus a specific amount. This amount reamining in the villages can be defined by a minus sign.
ds_8154_01.jpg

Scavenging Unlock Times
Unlocking the Scavenging options now shows the time remaining until when the required resources become available

Market Requests
The market now has a "Request" feature, which allows you to request resources from all your villages, according to configurable templates.
ds_8154_02.jpg

Bugfixes

Empty Messages
It is no longer possible to send empty messages to players.

Great Siege: Renaming Attacks
It is now possible to properly rename attacks coming from Great Siege districts.

Church Radius
In some edge cases the map did not always display the correct church radius. This has been fixed.

Rank 1 (or better)
When talking about player rankings in events and scoreboards in general the game should no longer use the term "Rank 1 or better".

Update to version 8.158

Dear Community,
Our new update to version 8.158 will be released on Monday, February 18th.
Next to some bugfixes and backend improvements this version brings a way to mass assign flags to your villages.

Changes and Improvements

Mass Flag Assigning
8158_massflags.png
You can now mass assign (and unassign) flags to village groups from the research overview. Simply open the mass assign screen and select the option and type of flag and level you want to assign. Flags that currently have a cooldown period, or cannot otherwise be removed, will not be changed.

Additionally flags will not be removed from villages that have active Flag Booster benefit.

Bugfixes

Rally Point Unit Types
The Rally Point will no longer display "Infantry" for all unit types.

Request Resources Template Issues
We fixed an issue with the request resource templates. Now, if the total amount of resources in the template is larger than the capacity, the resources are split based on their ratio in the template.

Maximum Market Requests
Choosing the "Maximum" setting for market requests is now working properly on the mobile browser version and mobile apps.

Recruiting too many units
It should no longer be possible to begin unit recruitment when an invalid amount of units is entered.

Defender Simulation
For defenders the "This village" option in the simulator uses all available units again.

Barbarian Morale
Copying a barbarian village from a report to the simulator will now display the correct morale value (100%).

ds_8165_request.jpg

Aristocracy Control
We adjusted the in-game help to clarify that the stronghold can be constructed by all members of the tribe's aristocracy.

Loyalty can now be used as a filter when creating dynamic groups.
ds_8165_loxalty.jpg

The game now allows to specifically configure push notifications for Tribe Quests.

Update to version 8.168

Dear Community,
Our new update to version 8.168 will be released on Monday, May 13.

This update includes a game rule improvement and some quality of life improvements for the game.

Changes and Improvements

Clarification to Rule 4.8
The game rule §4.8 (regarding Account Sitting) has received some changes to make it more clear what the conditions and implications of a rule-breach are; to bring it more in line with and better explain how our support teams are dealing with these cases. The rule now reads as follows:

"If the "Account Sitting" feature is used the account owner is solely responsible for the selection of the sitter and it is assumed that the sitter is in general acting with his/her consent. This applies to any change done to (or by) the account while the account sitting is active. Individual or repetitive misuse of sitting may lead to punishments to all involved accounts. It is at the Support Team's discretion to define misuse on a case-by-case basis."

Stronghold Tribe Participation
(This is a community suggestion from Tribal Wars International! You can find it here!)
The stronghold screen now includes information on the amount of resources individual tribe members sent. This overview can be filtered for an overall amount or the last seven days.
ds_8168_stronghold.png

AND/OR Battle Reports
(This is a community suggestion from Tribal Wars International! You can find it here!)
Battle report filters now have an AND/OR option, to allow for more and finer filtering options.
ds_8168_AND_OR.png

Total Units Overview
The units overview screen now includes a row for all units. These are all units in the village, including own troops outside of the village, own troops supporting the village as well as other players' supporting troops.
ds_8168_totaltroops.png

Addition to public settings overview
We added the information if tribe members can be attacked or not to the public settings overview for each world.

Traveling Merchant Milestones
If a player does not collect the milestone rewards in the Traveling Merchant event, they will now be collected automatically when the event ends.
