Things moved on.
You’ll never believe it, but wars happened. Lots of them! Spear-Nukes were sent, defences were broken by Swords, and do you all remember when your Paladin was actually REALLY important to your strategy? There were good declarations, bad declarations, and in fact missing declarations. This was still the formative stage of W38, tribes jockeyed for position, and the top 10 changed on a regular basis. I’ll never have the full list, but the following covers the fun and games that made up 2009-2010.
Maybe the following will ring bells with some of you, I include links where possible back to the original threads, in case you want to reminisce further.

Domino started this period as the #7 Tribe, and ended it as the #1, through a combination of well-picked wars (COD/Asylum, Art notably), but also through the time-honoured path of other tribes imploding, or at least making some bad decisions. –Matts (??E??) declaration on us was a perfect example.

Possibly the most satisfying conclusion to a War I’ve ever been involved in.
By the end of this period Domino had more or less taken shape. Additions to our tribe such as Froshan, ewanm1, Butchcassidy, JonEdCap, TC77, Prussia Empire, MxRiderTP, Colin300 and several others made us a cohesive unit, and we had fulfilled our goal of securing (more-or-less) our South eastern border so we could focus elsewhere. The demise of ??E?? was a surprising bonus as it opened up the South-west to us rather unexpectedly… and ultimately led to QKnightQ and Chunkeytoes joining us – which I think can be seen almost as a world-winning moment. This off-set the loss of Azazel Aziz who had been (along with Mnov) our foremost attacking player.
So we were No.1, and in a great position. To our north and north-west we had NATO, and NUTS to our North – and to the east Asylum, whom we had already beaten.
But as is always the way in Tribal Wars, trouble was brewing.
