Ok here is a regular scenario that happens alot these days, what would you do?

So You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?

I wouldn't confront them with the fact that she's your friend if those three people are people ''you respect and admire'', but I would really rethink if you ''respect and admire'' them if they talk smack behind someone's back. They might be doing the same thing to you - who knows...? I'd tell that ''close friend'' those three people smack talk behind her back.
