My reading is quite good actually, but your reading may be off a bit. Seems you originally said:

Pressure from =v= and sound diplomacy destroyed ~s~.

Which are two different things when you break the sentence down. One says V applied pressure to destroy S, and the other states that V with pressure and sound diplomacy caused S to disband.
