i have not gotten it to work on any world without paladins because it looks for the paladin unit in the report, if i remove the logic to look for the paladin the script does work,

Im confused, "does not work on paladin worlds" or "NOT gotten it to work on any world WITHOUT paladins".

it did not work on worlds that do not have the paladin unit in the battle reports. i made a type in my first comment i have fixed the typo
