And what of the community? Are they supposed to just let go of the game that has created many friendships, a sense of belonging, a form of escapism from real world issues in their lives and a platform for them to build skills they wouldn't get elsewhere (such as leadership, communication, teamwork - to name a few)?

Sure, I used to play Populous the Beginning at a pretty high level in the late 90s and early 2000s and was absolutely obsessed with it before I started TW. The great thing is there are plenty more games in the sea.

The only reason why this can happen is it was suggested before or when the idea is not a game improvement. Note that the forum is only for game improvement suggestions.
