SW hardly work for farming, so that's a clear disadvantage. In addition, it uses up barracks-time, requiring quite a few upgrades to your 'rax before it levels out as if you would use stables.

As mentioned they can carry more than H/Cav yet slower however due to not using the stable for H/Cav you can keep building fast farming L/Cav. so per farm slot you can carry more. If you control your area that is something that can be worked in no problem.
Remeber you need a L10 stable plus L15 smithy for H/Cav which takes time to reach
Sword only take L2 barracks so you can work a few in every now & then & will have the same strength in D well before you would reach H/Cav with very little loss in time.

Anyone that goes all-o is a selfish and egoistical bastards in my opinion.
Why?
There will always be tribemates that simply did not get lucky, but are ace players. You should always be able to help them.
Next to that: you're not superman. You can be attacked even though you own your entire 15x15.
You shouldn't wait for this to happen, but anticipate and be at least somewhat prepared for it.
You can say that this'll cost you time and offensive troops, but who are you really kidding? If you have a solid start you should have your spears, and building the matching swords or hc's at ~1.5k points takes only a few hours if you've built a few loose swords and spears here and there with your leftover resources.
The few hours of production loss really don't outweigh all the benefits you gain.
