The Great Siege is a "King of the Hill" type of endgame. In the middle if the world a big city will spawn with consists of several villages a player can conquer. These villages are called districts and will yield the tribe of the controlling player a certain amount of points for holding them. To win the world a tribe will need to reach a set amount of points, which are accumulated by holding districts within boroughs within the central cities.

You can watch this video here which explains it, plus a full run down below!

The central city always consist of a set amount of districts (individual villages) that are within "borough's". Each city has four boroughs. By holding a district you will receive "influence points" which are paid out once per day and accumulate to reach the target score. These are paid for every district you hold within the borough at that point, and each borough pays out at a different time thought the day. You can see how much influence each district holds by hovering over the specific district.

Check the settings announcement out which will tell you the required victory influence points, and if it will reduce over time! (If the criteria is not met in X days, it will reduce gradually until is achievable)

The central city is always at the center of the map. It can spawn in different sizes (4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10)
When hovering over you get the most important information on the specific district:
  • Defense modifier (malus)
  • How many victory points are awarded per day (for holding the district)
  • And who controls the district

In the ranking overview you will find a detailed overview on the individual districts as well as the four boroughs.
Each borough will grant the victory points at another time of day. To get the victory points your tribe needs to control the village when the countdown hits zero.

The defense malus is symbolized by a colored and cracked shield.
The district name cannot be changed.

Also note the loyalty of 1 (Loyalty always remains on 1 for the central city)
Outside of that the district behaves just like a normal village

FAQ's

How does a Great Siege world start? The central city spawns before all other player villages when the world starts, other than this there is no difference to a normal world start.
How do I win a Great siege world? To win the world tribes need to attack and hold the villages that make up the central city.
Does the central city start off with troops? Yes
Are there any other differences with these villages? Yes, they have a low loyalty (of 1 at all times) & a negative defense multiplier (Similar to a rune end game, however this can vary from district to district on how big the multiplier is)
I'm ages away from the cities is this a disadvantage? No, The travel time to (and back from) a district is always the same. Even from district to district. This is to ensure that players spawning at the center don't get too big of an advantage.
Do the boroughs pay out at the same time? No - they are all different times throughout the day
What happens if you delete/inactive whilst holding a district? If a player deletes/goes inactive the districts are converted into a barbarian district.
What happens if a player holding a district leaves a tribe? If a player is not in a tribe, leaves/was kicked from a tribe or the tribe was disbanded the points for holding a district from then on are "wasted" as they would not be assigned to a tribe (unless the player joins another).
What happens if two tribes reach the winning score at the same time? If the tribes have the same amount of influence points the tribe with the higher overall ranking score (total points) will win
