Feedback Game Updates

1. Would it at all be possible to add a timeframe in the announcement for when updates are to be implemented, ex. "9-10ST", if not an even smaller time frame.
2. I assume you do some testing to the new features, would it be possible to see an before and after image of the UI if that is to be affected?
Agree, seeing UI changes in announcement of new game update would be nice.
I liked the change of UI in Combined Overview in App.

There is a beta server where they launch those updates a few weeks earlier.
but wouldn't be a bad idea to mention what they update somewhere, because now you have to stumble on it by accident on the beta server.

My political map T_T

Theres no way this is a hard feature to keep afloat... Come the fuck on man

We need the Political Map back. Why even remove it in the first place?

The political map was removed because that specific piece of code was problematic, it has been causing problems the last 10 years (it's a part of the earliest code in the game software). And because that feature saw very little actual use, (it was only used by 1% of the players) the decision was made to remove it instead of updating something so complex with such little use.

Please add the political map back :(
I have no way of easily looking at the map and seeing which villages are enemy and tribe anymore... The little color dot in the corner is far from visible enough...
1% of playerbase used it, 0% of developers had the required competence to re-do code that "changes map overlay".

I do wonder how that percentage looks in mid to late game, as political map serverd close to no purpose in earlygame, until accs got larger.

Actually political map was super useful early world as there were. Lot of subtle changes to the overlay based on growth tribe changes and early conquests. This is one of the top 3 worst updates to ever come out...next they will take time to build out because the ratio of buildings built to times people hit the 5p% faster is to small.

Political map was a great feature that required people to become experienced with it and how it fully functioned to use. This should not have just arbitrarily been removed.

Dear Tribal Wars Development Team,

I'm writing to express my concern regarding the recent removal of the political map view. As someone who is colorblind, the standard map has always been difficult for me to interpret. The political map, however, provided a much clearer and more vibrant visual representation. It helped me distinguish between village clusters and better understand the layout of my surroundings in the game.

With the political map view now gone, I—and likely many others with similar visual impairments—struggle to navigate the game effectively. Considering that a significant portion of the Tribal Wars player base is male, and that approximately 1 in 12 men (roughly 8%) are colorblind, this change may unintentionally alienate a notable segment of your community.

I kindly ask you to reconsider the removal of this feature, or at least provide an alternative map view or accessibility option to support those of us with visual impairments.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Yours sincerely,
TheBoyInQuarantine

The app has a ridiculous writing bug
where "dismiss and mass dismiss" is as mass dismiss, has this been resolved too?
I reported it to the server I saw (Brazil) but there it seems that they don't take the reports seriously

I sure hope the devs are just working on their sense of humor (it would need a lot of work) with the current poll, because otherwise they're gonna have a lot of angry players, and I'm already one of them. Remove coincost flags?! The fact you would even consider such a thing is completely unacceptable, especially after repeatedly over the years - apparently including this same latest Q&A - refusing to in any way touch the luck flags that nobody likes or uses.

Even if you're sure it'll never pass as it must not, you're basically forcing players to vote against it regardless of what the other options might be. That itself could hurt the game.

Why not? The gameplay loop of flag boost minting is horrible, and minting flags directly leads to large growth differences between old accounts from pre-flag acquisition nerf.
All other flags you can move around or deal with, but having someone outgrow you by 15% because of flags, makes nobody want to play this game as a new player.

I think it's fair to point out that it wasn't only the luck flags that where up for discussion during the Q&A. The issues/problems and concerns about the current way of minting was one of the most requested topics for the latest Q&A.

So, while I don't want to join either the yay or nay side for this poll question, there is a reason this is a part of the poll. There have been lots of complaints, discussions and suggestions about the issues with minting in it's current form. This is why it also made it into the poll to see what direction a potential solution / change should preferably be in.

19Flagboost minting .... will there be any work done to maybe simplify it, or outright remove it?We are aware of this problem. At its core, it is caused by the flag that reduces the coin costs for minting. In combination with the flag doubler, it is now kind of a mandatory strategy to mint.
Everyone is practically forced to do this because there is no more efficient alternative. That alone is bad for a strategy game. It's also an extremely annoying and time-consuming way to play. On top of that, it also leads to increased bot usage.
We are already thinking about how to solve that issue. We should actually change or remove the flag, as it is the core problem. But this could annoy the players who have invested a lot in this flag.
Another option would be not to allow the flag doubler to be used with the minting flag. That could mitigate the issue.
Maybe we can ask you about your preferred solution in a community poll.

First, what do you mean by the pre-nerf part? In general tho, removing these flags wouldn't even solve the problem because there's a LOT of reasons vets/whales are going to stomp new F2Ps. This is just one of those games, if it's not for you then it's not for you. People have strong accounts, people get lucky, some people spend more time on it than you, some people spend more money on it than you. It's never been a fair game and that's ok. Even I only take it in limited doses. For flags alone, ALL highlevel ones offer a huge advantage. You saying that's not the case is just false. Also, "why not"? This is my stuff I earned. Don't touch my stuff.

Nova, i hope that ”As usual, changes will be implemented as soon as they have a minimum of 70% yes votes”.

I want no exception to 70% majority.

I'm pretty sure the first question won't count as a yes/no question.

And the part you copy pasted also goes on to say: As usual, changes will be implemented as soon as they have a minimum of 70% yes votes. For the minting, we want to see which direction you prefer.

People have complained about luck flags for a very long time too. A dev has said no directly and I never understood why, but especially not now that this situation is happening. I'm also not necessarily saying there isn't a problem, but that this is a horrible way to address it. It's been proven many times that pushing for new fans/players too hard at the expense of your established ones does NOT end well. If I ever log in to see that all my best flags were gone I'd never play again. Of course I wouldn't. Congrats, you'd have kissed up to a new player, but you'd have lost an old one. And having the boost item not apply is a reasonable option and far better than the other two given ones, but even then I don't want to be forced into voting for it out of fear of the others. That's a horrible precedent.

Well, the luck flag is.. lacklustre. It's actually good when you need it and it balances the luck the way you need it, but there's quite a risk involved in using it. But the thing with the flags is that not all flags are created equal - all flags aren't super useful and they shouldn't be. Some are more desirable than others and since flags are often gained randomly there has to be some balancing between the different types.

And so far the only ones discussing the issue from a new/old player perspective is actually a couple of players. I think there might be some kind of misunderstanding of the root of this discussion, because it doesn't have much to do with new vs. old players, it's rather players complaining about the process with needing to mint allt the time for 48 hours that started it - nothing else. You can see a couple of these here in the Q&A questions thread, there's a very active thread about it on Discord with over 200 posts - there are a lot of different opinions, but none of them are about favouring new players at the cost of old players (I'm not reading through that chat again now to double check it.)

So, again - if this topic had anything to do with "pushing for new fans/players" it would probably have been initiated by InnoGames and not players, and if that was the goal, adding the question to the poll would make no sense at all.

As I hinted, I wasn't 100% sure what Olve was saying but continued on the basis they set. If it wasn't actually a valid basis, well...
In any case tho, I'm still vehemently against the idea of removing coincost flags (which of course would seriously hurt and offend established players; that's my main point). It's shocking to me that we're even considering it.

As for luck flags and this line of thought: not so, in my opinion. I have some history in testing for various games and this is actually specifically something that's come up before: I'm all for discussing accessibility of positives and choice between positives, but I don't think games should ever be balanced using arbitrary negatives. I get what you're trying to say, but in reality it's only punishing yourself as a player for no reason.

Have you guys considered a "pay-to-enter" world where everyone has to pay some fixed amount of money to join the world, but once in you can't spend real money beyond that? That way PP abusers aren't able to just... steamroll the world? I know I have a crew who would be interested in something like that, I'm sure there are others as well looking for something like that.
