I thought that we could use some short or long introduction for each Active Forum Posters in world 48.
Here is mine!
It all started back when I was 7...
I had been a Hard Core gamer since Grade School when I was still 7 years old. It has been 18 years I have played games from Family Computer, Game Boy, Brick Game, SuperNes, Arcade, Game Gear, Playstation, xBox, Playstation 2, PC games and to online PC Games.
My first game ever was Super Mario and Contra on family computer then followed by Donkey Kong, Pac-man and all those other games that came out after them. At age 7, I already was 24/7 on the Family Computer and my first RPG was DBZ on Family Com. I Had all those games on Family Com. Even the game cartridge 100 in 1 then followed by 1000 in 1 as the hardware and software of games constantly evolved with updates from their creators.
Then came other consoles which I had complete games on them only up to PS2. xBox at that time had only 4 games as I recall on 1990’s. I forgot the exact year.
After that PC game took over at 1998? First PC game I played was Doom. I think it was still DOS-base then Krondor which came from the famous Bestseller of David Eddings or was it Raymond E. Feist? Yeah, I’m also a bookworm besides being a hard core gamer. Well, imo, if you’re a bookworm, you would love to play games to have a feel of that fantasy of what you just read. I forgot to mention, I started with D&D with the Role Playing Book which a circle of real friends are around with sheets of paper for their character information and you play RPG where someone among your friends narrate the story line and it depends on the dice for your every move. Also, I started with gaming cards such as Magic The Gathering. Not to mention, it was me and my friends who created the most deadly deck ever on Magic the Gathering, the Kadabloom deck which can win on your first turn.
Anyway, after Krondor, I have my fill with, I forgot who was the first of those games who came out but it was these games, Mech Warrior(Also from a book, the Battle Tech series), Reunion(A sci-fi pc game, merely graphics image game that you usually see on web browser sci-fi games now a days), QUAKE(I think first FPS multiplayer game to come out), DIABLO(My first taste of a really good multiplayer RPG) and then came STARCRAFT, Expansion BROADWAR(with Bnet, First ever to multiplayer RTS game. Oh, I forgot war craft! Well, I played all this games 24/7 and it was Star Craft who ruined my grades. We played Star Craft for 2-4 days non-stop because of Big Game Hunters which you almost have unlimited supply of resources and everyone barricade there base with Cannons combo Pylon for Protoss, Turrets combo Bunkers for Terrran and Sunken combo with Spore for Zergs. As I remember it, there where 3 of us playing Free For All and we were the best of the best players on our town. None dared attack first because the Third one would definitely win. But to make the story short, I won that battle and I was handling Protoss and it took 3-4 days to finish. Anyway, if Star Craft ruined my grades, it was CS(Counter Strike) who kept me playing and addicted for 2 straight years until at 2002, Ragnarok Online came to the Philippines and it was then that my mmorpg career started.
Ragnarok, published/develop by Gravity online change my view on mmo. At first, it was just a curiosity so I tried it because I quit 1 year at that time on playing games because it consumed a lot of money to play them. I always play on Internet Cafes because it has LAN and it’s more fun to compete in LAN especially when your friends are there or other people. But Ragnarok was different, it was nationwide and Global. It was like competing to the world and unlike the console games I played.
I played Ragnarok for two years also and spent more than 50 thousand pesos and that is more than 5000 USD. It was a good mmo until the GM’s at that time ruined it. GM’s at that time were so corrupt. They sell armors in real money and flirt with female players by giving armors/items. Many GM got Girl Friends from players because of it. I really was upset because I almost didn’t eat and sleep just to Farm my items and to level up. Still, I persevere and continue my quest to be no1 on the game until I got hacked. I couldn’t believe I was hacked by any players because I never told my password to anyone, not even my mom or my true friends know about it and also I played only in the house and never downloaded any programs that would possibly hacked me. I report my hack case for almost a hundred times and they never give back my items. They always answer “Be patience and wait for your case because there are many people ahead of you and we are investigating 1 by 1.” That get me so mad because of the time and effort I put on playing Ragnarok not to mention the money I spend for it for me to play it. Then I heard from my friends that there are Rich people in-game who gives money(maybe twice or thrice their salary I think) to a GM to hack-delete a certain player they have grudge in-game in PVP or other reasons. That made me quit Ragnarok Online.
From that time on, I thought my gaming career ended until I found Supreme Destiny. As usual, it was another try that ended me being addicted to the game. My first taste of Supreme Destiny was in SD my(Supreme Destiny Malaysia) where I turned out not so good for my first time playing it and many other hard core gamers where ahead of me, so I shifted to SD ph(Supreme Destiny Phillipines) and was able to fulfill my dream of becoming top 1 Pkier Player. There is no one I couldn’t kill with my build and it was fun and exciting until SD ph patch on level gap took 2 months. I waited patiently but WYD Global was released and on it’s CB(Closed Beta) Launch I transfer to WYD Global, where it was a good challenge for me in competing the best player of WYD in all over the world.
I had achieve Top 1 Ranking Player in that Game and quitted. I can't really tell you why but I quitted playing games for some time and concentrated on my social life. That didn't take long until I'm back playing again. Now, shifting mostly to browser games rather than those 3D Engine Games. Until now, I am still searching for that Perfect MMORPG where it seems to elude me forever....
Anyways, it seems this is a bit too much and too long for an introduction, so I'm going to cut it here...
Here is my Current Pic btw... I'm into Gangstah Life now a days...
