How speed affects world growth (world 15/16)

Hi there guys, I have known for a... very long time that this world is inactive, but how inactive? I have decided today to study two worlds that opened at the same time (or near that); world 15 and world 16.

To conclude, I hope this makes us feel better about our community, I know you all think that this world is deteriorating quickly, but world 15 opened at roughly the same time as world 16, and it has half the players on this world.

As you can see, their huge speed advantage puts them head and shoulders above our stats in every aspect, you would expect that as their world is twice as fast as ours. At a short glance, their forums seem similarly active to ours, with them having 6 threads posted on today which is equal to ours.

I remember W15. It was crazy with how fast everything grew. I like this one much better, takes more skill rather than more online times.

yeah I joined in a premade, I think we were #1 at one point, but the whole "be online 24:7 to maximise growth" thing killed us I think. I can vaguely remember typing in caps lock on skype to my tribe begging for a night sitter.

You're right, fast world offers so much more in terms of gaining villages, stats, and so on, but ultimately it expires faster too. I surely wouldn't be able to play W15 if it demands so much of online presence.

Well it doesn't require much skill. I remember my tribe getting gangbanged by the Berry family and betrayed by our allies who I think was named Angelz.

It took them several months to dislodge my then nooby-self from their area. I remember one of my last three villages was all scouts and they were afraid of it because they couldn't get a report.

Personally, I believe our world simply looks way more interesting. We have no clear winner yet and our top rankings aren't made up of 5 obese family tribes. With world 16, your every move has to be thought out. Whereas on 15 I would bet you don't have the time to think about what you do.

Wow there are 6 different tribes that rule world 15. That would be a bit boring. I bet there all allied aswell. lol. I dont like low speed worlds but i really like world 16. World 15 looks a bit stupid though... :icon_smile:

In any event, AXE is the only elite tribe, and also ranked #1. They started a bit late (just a couple weeks) and were not a core-16 tribe. They conquered into the core later. Seems like starting a server a couple weeks into the game can be more advantageous to a tribe in the long run. Such is the case with Plight.

Which brings up a point I've oftened wondered about.... I am an original core-16 player. The Core 4 continents are K44-45-54-55, and K's 33-66 are the core 16), but I am no longer in my first main tribe (Hippos). Axl started at the very edge of the core-16, but he is not in his original main tribe either (~LOD~).

How many original core players remain on W16 who are still in the same tribe they belonged to when they conquered their first village? And still OWN their first village, never having been rimmed? Anyone fit in that category? (Not including account take overs.)

You all know your own tribes best... who out there are the "old faithful" core players of W16? With Beardsy inactive, right now it looks like Zvone's the ruling "granddaddy" of W16. Can anyone beat him?

Considering CND and =HRV= are the only premades still around, I think it would be highly unlikely that anyone else fits this category.

I know that pretty much everyone in Plight was snatched from somewhere or other, and the only core members are not in the core 16. In fact, we only have 2 members which joined at ~1000 points and still remain.

Too few. By the way, they aren't all allied. I believe AXE and TSOH are at war with DA, and N~L is skirmishing AXE, and EVIL or whatever is doing nothing :lol:.

I'm missing one statistic though: the dates when both worlds were closed for new players. Unless I'm very much mistaken, W16 closed later than W15. This allowed us longer access to "fresh" players, and should result in a larger amount of players left.

Or, if you spin the argument around: the majority of W15 players joined their world well before the majority of W16 players joined theirs. The earliest players started at the same time in both worlds, but the fact that the average player in W15 has been playing longer than the average player in W16 gives us a big advantage in keeping players until now. It gives the W15 players more time to get bored or taken away by real life issues.

Damn near impossible to determine the extent of that influence though, since you'd need a group of worlds that started at the same time (to avoid seasonal effects, e.g. summer) but closed at very different times to make a comparison.

I kinda do... still have my original village, am still the original guy who started back at the beginning of the world. My first tribe was ~WMA~, which ultimately merged into ORC and then BANG!?.
