Make Casual Great Again

Guys, I took a break between C7 and C12, and I cannot believe how it has changed! My tribe attacks other players, starts (and ends wars). We plan attacks, set landing times, all that. And mostly its fun. But everyone knows that Norse will win because they recruited large barb noblers from the start. Thats all they do! Stack and noble barbs...
So, seeing Cale want to make casual great again cracks me up. You want it easier to noble barbs?

They are bad enough players that they can not play a normal world, so they want to pick on new players in casual.

What? They cannot pick on new players because of point ranges. They only stack and attack barbs. And "normal worlds" are full of barb noblers, too. I have 3 villas unprotected on w129, and zero attacks after how long? I built the mines up, I even offered the res to neighbors. But the barbs are going quick.
TW has turned into sim city for low testorone males.

Oh well... it is what it is. Let's hope they get a new casual world for the guys from the new worlds. Or they will simply fall in line to join the ranks of the hopeless and isolated ones.

I guess the final result is that there is simply no hope. There is no way to make casual great again. I predicted that the win condition settings will ruin the casual worlds. And I was right. Casual play simply cannot work while you make it attractive for glory hungry profiles to chase after their blood thirsty win desires. In their minds simply having fun is a silly concept. Who on earth would want to have fun hey.....LOL.

Any people that join casual intend to win. Unless its to flag farm.
And you are salty because people takes barbarian villages, when that's the only thing that makes them grow.

That the whole problem. The fact that someone even thinks it's worth spending the days here to block out other players and make sure new players can't even get to one extra village. Thats what makes the world unfair for new players to even join. There are people spending whole days chasing wins in casual worlds that can only happen far in the future. By that time most have forgotten why they actually joined casual world.

I still believe that players should not be allowed to capture any barbarian villages that are below 500 in points, unless they own less than 5 villages. Let the babies have some fun in their playground without the adults raiding the sand pits and the ball ponds.

But I see there is a new casual world 13, so then that's it. Casual 12 is officially dead now as it cannot expand. Now the barb hoarders can sit and watch themselves hoard till the world ends. There should be lots of players going barb now as their sparkling eyes see a new world opening where they can at least get some fun with sending a noble somewhere. That will be until the hoarders start their blocking process there. Then hopefully a new casual world will come to our rescue. So if we can follow this pattern and get a new casual world very often, this can still make casual great again. Pity though that we can't simply leave the old world and migrate to the new one. But at least I can still take a silent revenge...... I won't use any new upgrade inventory items for village buffs. And they can simply vanish when I decide to leave.

What if the barbs fought at less strength? Like they didnt have church. If they made it so barbs were harder to stack and defend, players may actually attack real players.
And yes, I am salty that this is what TW is now. I really think it was more fun when players attacked each other...

I still liked the idea that Barbs could not be supported. At least this will prevent stacking. The problem is that then a nobler also cannot send a tail end with support troops to land short after nobling.

OK well I agree. I enjoy casual worlds because it can be played by a sole owned profile. Only problem I have is that the world is filled quickly with millionnaires and then they simply block out all expansion by becoming professional rimmers. It is due to the nature of the settings that this will happen. They are simply shuffling about in preparation for the end game phase. I appreciate this and also that they contribute to keeping the game alive. I just hate the fact that it stifles the fun for smaller and slower players who want to play casually and don't really care about entering the end game phase. This is clearly already happening in the newest casual world 13 and obviously will happen in every casual world in future.

Maybe someone needs to make a summary of the ideas mentioned in this forum and then keep it updated with new ideas added.

But 100 villas is no fun, its fun if u have way more, the bigger the better
The thing is that it could encourage earlier competative play. Because more players will be on each other's point range for longer. So they can lift the limit of villages progressively by 20 villages per month. Suddenly it opens up for strategic play among the players who can have more villages now. Now they can select to go for barbs again or for player villages.

Ok I tested the hypothesis. I started from a smallish village into Casual 13. I chased after getting to an academy without using premium boosts. I got to smithy level 18 and all the barb villages around me have already been nobled out by the professional rimmers. This confirms by belief that it is useless for players to start out in casual worlds if they want to play casual style. They will have to end up playing with only their one village.
Conclusion.... no hope for casual play.

Maybe we need to have truly casual worlds with no end game winning settings as a second alternative for players to migrate to. Hoping that the professional rimmers would opt to rather play in these current style of casual worlds. They may not want to dominate a purely fun casual world where winning is not possible.

This can then be a permanent casual world as an option for anyone to join instead of a casual world with an end game setting.

I have a suggestion that might need some consideration, and it may not necessarily solve all issues, but it's worth exploring for sure.

Looking at other casual servers, German, Polish, Italian many of them seem to have a much higher barb spawn rate than .net, Ofc some more have the basic 350% (if its the basics)

Meanwhile some of these servers have 700%-1200% barb rate per player aswell 100% bonus barb per village = 8-13 barbs per player spawned. Even saw one greece server with 25 barb per player. Don't know how it worked tho as i havnt spoken to anyone from there haha.

This would result in many more barbarians most likely more than enough for players to noble. Maybe you then say "The competetive players will just noble more" But speaking from experience early - mid the problem for the big players isnt "not enough barbs" It is "Not enough nobles"
So with more barbarians leaving the newer players, more casual players, and newly transfered players a chance to also get some villages resulting in more fun for all.

Would also result in a bigger world, which is more fun. New players get

On top of that suggestions would be to add in no barb support like omen said. This feature would prevent larger players from stacking barbarians, which would level the playing field and give smaller players, whether they are new or more casual or whatever category u wanna call, a better chance to noble. This change would also boost motivation in the game, as we all know that nobling is an exciting part of Tribal Wars. Joining a casual world with no barbarians or players to attack due to the PR limit can be quite dull. This would have to be when support lands if that would be possible, that way u can still time your support on villages you send towards but when landing it returns if you for example walled. Otherwise it would ruin for example players helping each other out from different tribes, as i don't think casual would be a good suit for because simply smaller tribes would need to work together to have a chance vs the bigger ones.

nother aspect to consider is the timing of the first event in casual worlds. I believe the initial event should not occur when the casual world starts. For example, let's take world 137 and casual world 15. World 137 will not have an event when world 136 does, but the Casual 15, which runs concurrently with world 137, will have the event. This would prevent big spenders from gaining an early advantage through the event. This adjustment would serve as a minor balance tweak, assuming that events won't be completely removed, which I doubt would happen.

You won't eliminate the competitive players from casual worlds, but by giving all players a fairer chance to grow, it might enhance the overall experience for everyone involved.

These are just some ideas that occurred to me while examining other servers and drawing from many years of experience in casual worlds. At the very least, it could be worth trying out.

Any thoughts if this would be a good add on or no?

should make troops in barbs be weaker in endgame. Make it like runes or that a barb can have a max pop defending with like 20k pop or something. Stops the barb stacking shit ppl are doing

Yeah well its the end game phase that attracts the casual specialists from the start. So I have come to accept it now. The new casual was not open for more than a few days and it was already exploding into the same pattern. I joined cas15 in Oct 2023. Then not 2 months later there were no barbs free or unstacked. So the casual specialists are occupying even quicker on the newer casual world. This is the future and so it will stay until they give us a casual that is truly casual without silly end game settings. Maybe then it will serve no purpose to chase after a win goal and leave it purposely casual for players who don't really care who wins. A good training ground for new co-played profiles to coordinate times and practise attacking and defending teamwork and then move on.

Give us a fun casual world that has no end game settings and let's see how many people join it. There is no other way.
