I think it would be very handy for players to be able to create multiple map highlight templates.
For example players could have one template highliting with different colours all big tribes, one template highlighting different players in one tribe, one empty template ect.
I think it would save much time from checking/unchecking boxed so many times if you could quickly switch from one template to another.
There could be a "manage templates" button next to the "manage highlights" button on the map from where you can create and delete those templates.
By pressing "manage highlights" on the map, there should be a section where you can choose the templates that will be used (Additional to "Your villages" and "Other villages" sections - maybe to the left of the "Other villages" section).
