Here's a thought. Don't make posts that break the rules at all, and maybe, just maybe, you'll enter the new year without any new infractions. :3

Come on guys, no moderator doesn't mean no rules. It's a chance to show everyone we don't need moderators. The fact that Jake can go back and find posts that break the rules just shows that we still need moderators for every section.

Now how about we all make a New Year's resolution where we all be on our best behavior? ^^

You make me want to puke in my mouth .. You know how horrible that feels don't you?

Not that I care myself, but id say it'd be bullshit for you to go through and give infractions for the time that TW and your staff failed to provide us with a mod.

The absence of a mod have been unfortunate, but it didnt give the users a carte blanche to ignore whatever rules they wish. That said, I dont expect there will be any trailing through every single post made to punish for any single thing - offtopic posts would at most get deleted if old, but outright swearing or insulting going against clearly outlined parts of the forum rules would still be within the domain of potential punishments.

Not everyone new to these externals read the rules just saying, so with no mod enforcing them by deleting and infracting the posters then new people will think it's actually ok to say such things (not terrible words but bad ones all the same) So it's all the tw staff fault (bow)

It has been stated before, and I'll state it once more on behalf of Jirki. Being new is no excuse for not knowing the rules. When you first join, you're made aware of the rules. There is even a link at the top that says, "Forum Rules." The rules aren't some shiny item that Smeagal is hiding away in some deep cave. So claiming, "I'm new and don't know the rules!" is not an excuse. It simply shows your lack of ability to read the rules. Or, more likely, you know the rules but think claiming you're new is a get out of jail for free card.

I've been here for years, so trust me when I say this. There is only ONE way to avoid infractions and warnings. And that's by simply following the rules to begin with.

Okay we get it Mr. White Knight. You will not get infracted without breaking the rules. But different mods have different views on the rules so it is different from mod to mod. Knee on. :icon_rolleyes:

Except those views only come into play when the moderators consider how far they are willing to let you bend the rules. If you just follow the rules instead of trying to see which ones you can break in front of who, then it won't matter what their views on the rules are. You'll still walk infraction free.

But please, continue making up excuses as to why you shouldn't get punished for breaking a rule. I enjoy watching a mouse scramble as it's cornered. Won't be long before the number of infractions catch up to everyone and people start getting banned. Afterall, banning people is the second best way to clean up the forum. I would mention the first, but it's obvious many of you here just don't care for the rules.

My views on the rules are exactly how the rules are read. You insult someone, you get infracted. Abusive language gets infracted. etc. etc. If it helps for you to know, of the current moderators throughout the different forums, I am probably the strictest mod. So stay on the safe side. If you think it may be infraction worthy, don't say it ;)

how about if we say such things as "abbreviation of 'f-word" as an expression and that would you infract for that ?

An excerpt from the rules;

"Extreme content
Anything deemed politically or religiously extreme, pornographic, illegal, or unsavory in any way is prohibited in this game whether posted or referenced. Racist or ethnic bashing comments are forbidden even if used in jest. Mentioning drugs is allowed, but comments that play down the use of illegal drugs or promote the use of said substances are strictly forbidden. Please note that starring out characters like "F*ck" does not make it any less a swear word. It is still perfectly understandable and still intentionally offensive, and thus is forbidden in all forms. This is Similarly the case for Acronyms such as GTFO or STFU. The meanings are known, and they are warnable or infractable offences."

According to the rules, what you have asked would in fact break the rules. Therefore, it's expected that ALL moderators hand out some form of punishment for the offense. But since it's Jake we are talking about, then yes, he will get onto you. ^^

I'll make things simple for everyone. http://forum.tribalwars.net/announcement.php?f=8 <-- See that? That is the forum rules since some of you claim to not know them. Take a few minutes out of your life to browse through it. It's even neatly seperated into categories for you. Not sure if your signature is against the rules? Scroll down to that section and find out! This system is really quite simple, leaving no excuse for anyone who breaks the rules...except of course the following one, "I just don't wanna follow the rules." In which case, the moderator will giggle like a school girl as you receive your infraction(s).

Thats the problem. If someone was to post something under the knowledge that dawolf is a little less strick and will not infract them for it, would it then be fair if you was to go back over what was said and infract what he would let off. Not like it matters to me at this stage as i know i have not posted anything that would warrant an infraction.
