Militia Information

Yeah we discussed it on the Beta after I came up with the idea months ago.

It really is a last resort thing.

Sorry, I was replying to these in the early hours so I wasnt quite thinking straight. Fordy, I mean that when you sent the attack, no matter what your lag was, the page would reset when the first attack hit (tribalwars does this automatically on a normal connection but of course it is possible to snipe this on a proxy where tribalwars doesnt autoreset but it would be a helluva lot harder), making your command unable to be processed inbetween the train and therefore get the militia to appear in the middle of a train.

basically:

- Click activate militia
- Nuke
- Noble 1
- Militia appear
- Noble 2
- Noble 3
- Noble 4

Would be impossible with a normal connection playing TW because the attacks would reset the page, no matter what your lag was

your browser wouldnt reset when the attack hit if you werent in overview or on the village page. to recruit militia you have to be in a militia page right? i dont think the browser would reset there

Can't you just use the script that freezes the clock anyway ? .
Not that I think militia are useful for sniping .

Still Going Strong
Why does it seem to be that tribal wars always seems to support the "noobs" instead of the players who have been around for years.

This is actually my third year of tribal wars and I personally dislike the whole idea of the militia. I'm sorry if that makes me a bad person. There is someone in my 7x7 who logs on about twice a week, who activates a militia at the right time, and kills a chunk of my troops. Granted, I should have scouted him first. But I find it very dumb that all you need to do to kill a large amount of LC is to click a button.

I think it hurts the farmers, more than it helps the defenders. That's my two-cents.

Because "noobs" are clearly at a disadvantage, levelling the playing field makes the game more interesting for everyone.

There are noobs , vets and 3rd tier players .

Noobs are those new and learning or those who never really got addicted or hyperactive about TWS.
Vets are those who have played for years think they are awesome but don't really understand the game in any depth.
3rd Tier - are those who understand the game and use this to their advantage to run rings around others .

IMO militia mainly benefits the 3rd tier .

You think militia creates a level playing field ?

"Vets" i hate that word. a vet is someone who has been to war, not some kid playing a computer game

Tends to be something players call themselves . Vets and 'elites' all stupid terms but have been adopted by players in this community . Most terms on Tribal Wars take on a different meaning than that in real life , as it's a pretend game . Imo vets is not a complimentary term . :icon_eek:

Last time I used that word Muldie flamed me :icon_sad: He said his little sis wanted to be a vet when she was in high school. Or something.
But yes, if you could call farm animals as militia, vets would surely have an advantage.

IMO, updates nearly always benefit those in the 3rd tier. Noobs are noobs for a reason and wont benefit from updates unless they know how to use those updates to their benefit. Those that know their stuff (excellent players) generally take advantage of everything that is thrown at them. Many things designed to help noobs (BP, Morale etc.) are already taken advantage of by vets

Essentially you all just extensively discussed the notion of sniping a train with the equivilient of a maximum of 300 spears.
Why bother discussing it at all? Now people know about it their just gonna stack their noble trains heavier.
