Missing noble

I had 4 nobles I sent them out to attack a barb, all 4 came back on hit. When I logged into my account I expected to see 4 nobles but their are only 3! I checked my academy and it accounts for the missing 4th one.
Where do I find my noble?

are you sure you didnt conquer the village and as a result a noble was used?

Yeah I am sure, no village and 4 nobles were returning
