5-10 villages is not startup, he never claimed he was 'one of the best' at mid-game.

I'd certainly class 5-10 villages as startup moreso than midgame, losing 1 village is still a large loss, I'd more class midgame as the stage where losing a village becomes meaningless.. I just don't see what value such a question serves.

In a random scenario where it is Player A, vs B+C, where A is as big as B+C, A will more often than not win because being a better player initially is what led to A being as large as B and C combined.

I think there may be best players at specific tasks though.

Lodda and Roberto would get my vote for best late-game players.

Lodda is the determining factor is who can most consistently get rank 1 on any world at late-game.

Roberto if we care more about % of war conquers, internals, etc. (He can't outgrow lodda, but he doesn't internal nearly as much as lodda)

As for startup, I'm not sure if I'd call any "better", except maybe Dent. There's a lot I'd class as roughly comparable though.

It's a well defined imaginary scenario, so I can bet.

But if you want more specifics... you have 6 def and 4 off. I have 2 off and 3 def, so as my friend.
All full build villages, so as troops.

Still a pointless bet, but I'll at least give you props for not suggesting the ridiculous O heavy setup most players would prefer.

(ie. If I have 10 villages, odds are that 6 of them really would be defense.)

i tend to agree with you zach, most of the guys i started playing tw with 7 years ago are gone, some of them were highly talented, and some of them were legendary at p2p
