nub question

if a player near you quits and they have all their troops in one village do the supporting troops stay where they are? disappear? or go back to where they came?

being the nub i am i didn't ask the question i actually wanted to know..... are they in any way linked to the village they came from so for example if i take village A, does village A's troops disappear from village B? or do they still stay since they don't "belong" to anyone?
