Paladin stacking/combining

I'm on W146. Can someone expound on paladin buffs? For instance do visiting paladins effect resident troops? If so, do the buffs stack?
As a bonus, please name the pally buff that made a villa of cats eat 6 nukes. Did a resident pally hold the buff and the tribe send cats?

The buffs will always be relient on the "strongest" paladin buff, so they don't stack, you just get the best paladins effects of each point.
Any paladin sitting in a village provides said village the paladins bonuses.

Offensive bonuses relies on paladin being in said attack.
Catapult defensive bonuses is a relic of the past, there are no boosters.
