Hey guys! Welcome to the W52 Player Made Maps thread. On this world it will have a double function. Firstly, it's a place where users can post their own maps and have other users comment on them. Secondly, this first post will serve as an archive for the best maps that are submitted over the course of the existence of this world.

What is the definition of "full sized"? 1000X1000? I always found it too big for the forums, and a bit annoying to look at, considering most of it is the edges of the map, green nothing. Why not make them 700X700, and just zoom in a bit?

I just meant I didn't want scaled down maps. Reduces quality and clarity IMO.

Firstly, I asked the W52 mod to do so, I didn't do anything myself.
Secondly, this thread has a lot more functions than an average player made maps thread. It is superior to your thread (I don't mean this in an offensive way), therefore it gets the sticky.

I did it, not FB. She discussed her idea with Typhi and me and we thought having an organised map thread like FB has planned would suit the world better, instead of everyone posting maps haphazardly.

Abusing the mod powers?

If anyone posted what she did, I'm sure it would have been stickied, it's a much better thread than the other "/infirst, post maps here pl0x" threads, which I'm not really sorry are gone, we had about 10 of them.

If you want a thread stickied, no offense, you have to work a bit harder on it, a couple of pictures maybe, more than 1 or 2 lines, a theme, maybe some colour, etc.

If you put in the effort, and it's relevant to the entirety of W52, then I'm sure your thread will get stickied, but a sticky either means: A) it's good and worth reading, or B) it's important/useful information. (Don't ask me why my guide was stickied, it's not either of them :icon_razz

Keep trying though, it's always nice to read new threads with some spark, but just try and put a little but more depth into them.

Wow, this is a great looking thread, it is a really good idea having that collection on them together to look back through! Sorry some people have been getting upset because their attempt to become 'famous' by having a thread stickied just because they posted it first has been taken away from them, it has really taken away from the extremely high quality of thread you have started here.

I had an idea, not sure if it would work well or not, but some of those graphics geniuses can take a load of pictures and put them into one of those 'rolling' (not sure what to call it, when one picture changes to the next, then the next and so on, example below in the spoiler) pictures. I was wondering if anything like that could be done with some of the maps that will get posted here, creating a sort of movie of evolution of the world? Would only really work well using maps that were the same size and focused on the same area, but just an idea I wanted to throw into the mixing pot

Ok, this section is just getting rediculous, now that som has clarified all that for those that did not know I think that this thread should be closed until the start of the world as there are currently no maps and no need for this to be in use.

I am in a W53 premade. W52 I'll start alone and be here for a few days that's all.

Right first off I did not do this as a favour for FB. She discussed her idea with Typhi and then told me about it. I thought it was a great way to organise the maps and would benefit W52 with decent maps in an organised way like FB planned. I was doing it to help you, and I apologise if it looked like I was doing friends a favour, because it was not intended that way at all.

Now I have mailed Matt an apology and will delete all the talk about power abuse as it is not relevant. I will pm people about this stuff beforehand now instead of just doing it. Lesson learned and I apologise.

Again, I was just trying to help the forum, not abuse anything.
