question about troops

hi there,
i would like to know what's mass recruitment and where is the setting for mass recruitment ?

what i normal do is i create template in troops manager and then i recruit troops like that way.
i use premium.
so i go to recruit >>> troops manager >> i choose from template and then i recruit troops.

but my friend told me to recruit troops from mass recruitment which i have never done before.
so , i 'm very confused. he sat my account while i was away and did some changes in mass recruitment.
he created groups and added some troops settings ( as far as i understand but i don't know how he did it) .

i can't gather how he did it.
i searched some settings for it myself but could not find it yet.

what i noticed was mass recruitment amount of troops and troops from templates i created are totally different.

Could anyone please help me out ?

under units on the village overview there is a button called recruit.

press that button.

then press the button for Mass Recruitment.

the different groups he has set up, will be set up with there own templates.

your best option is to press Insert the difference, and then press Recruit.

thanks very much for your time and replying me in details.
I know the way that you mentioned as above. like just clicking insert troops and it will insert certain amount of troops and it will automatically recruit.
but what i want to know is where is the setting for it ?
how do we calculate how many troops we have to insert into that troops type ?
that's where I'm stuck at the moment.

it is done on how many resources on in your villages. you can put a buffer on which doesnt recruit over said amount you put on.
