Restart rule

The restart rule means, you're not allowed to join, restart then delete account[if you don't like the locations] and join in with a new account?
Also what is the penalty if you do this?

Please note: Players who create multiple accounts in order to get a better starting location are in breach of our rules and so will be banned. You will not be permitted to start the world until after the first week if you are caught doing this.

I just wanted more clarity on it is all.
Things you should get banned for should be elaborated a bit.
Like how many days do we have to make a new account after we restarted? [i would assume 14, but it could be like 5 days.]
Also if you created an account on, for reference, IP:A and an account on IP:B, delete the account created on IP:A and used the account created on IP:B with IP:A

I suppose you would have to wait for the account to be deleted off the world which i think takes 7 days, I think the ban would be pritty heavy for this as its been noted on this world more than the others... Also if you have two accounts on 2 IP's i think that is still multi accounting.

Yeah you can restart once like normal as far as i know off, but as standard you got to wait like a week to start again, some people make more accounts to find there perfect start location so its just to stop that.

yeh it would be horrible if they didnt let you restart besides it wont let you restart more then once every 14 days or whatever,
the real rule is against creating more then one account and joining to get a good starting position

Most people who make multiple accounts to get a good starting location do so concurrently, not successively, which is what the rule is designed to give harsher penalties for. As this is not an additional rule, just a stiffer penalty for breaking an existing rule, I would assume that deleting an account and then joining with a different one would be legal as usual.

I've never interpreted the rule in that way, to me it seemed that creating, setting to delete and then creating another one straight away, to get a good starting position would be illegal for this world.

Now you bring it up it would be good to get this clarified as there is a massive difference between the so far accepted interpretation of what Morthy has stated, the interpretation that hinders pre-mades, and what you are stating here, which would not.

I was under the impression that was not legal to begin with. Thats why if you dont set the new accounts to shared internet connection with the old ones, you can get penalized. By labeling them shared internet connection, you are saying that you arent playing both accounts, just that someone on the same connection is. Its a lie, and usually a pretty blatant one, but people get away with it because it isnt always easy to detect the real shared connections and those who are just attempting to restart closer to their premade or something.

I could be mistaken, but like I said, I was relatively sure that that is illegal. If not, its a shame, and I wish it was. Im all for stricter regulation with this type of thing

What you are talking about is a way to play two accounts simultaneously and get away with it. It happens, and it is a shame, but it is what it is. However, if you are moving from one account to another, say going to co-play someone, or you are simply taking over a different account in the same world, you have these options:

We are aware that players take up new accounts, or go from smaller accounts to bigger accounts. In order to make sure everyonne is clear, there are only 3 ways that you can do this Legally and be without breaking the rules(mainly #1).

I thought it would be a good idea to outline the only 3 ways that switching accounts is considered Legal. These 3 examples have always been the only way but some players do not realize that.

1. Your CURRENT account is completely nobled out, you hit delete, never log back in and then a few hours later take up the "NEW" account.

2. You hit delete on your CURRENT account before you take up the new account. Logging back into the old account for ANY reason is considered a breach of rule 1.

3. You give away your current account to a new owner, they immediately change the password. Once the password is changed, you then accept the new account. Knowing the password to two accounts at the same time is considered illegal.

You may never send your old account into sitting while taking up a new account or waiting on a new owner.

Waiting on a new owner to appear for your old account is illegal. Having your tribe noble out your old account while actively playing a second, and knowing the passwords to both, is multi accounting, and a banable offense.

These are the only 3 ways that you can plausibly change accounts and stay within our written rules. Please make sure you understand before you or anyone you know takes up a new account.

Important: If you give away your account it no longer belongs to you. If you change your mind later on and try to reclaim control of the account this will be treated as illegal entry to an account.

That would have to be a separate rule, because doing that normally is still legal as long as you do it in one of the manners listed in the above quoted post.

It was clearly stated that the clause about the week ban is not a new rule, but a new punishment for an existing rule.

I actually interpreted the way GiraffeNuke did as well. Although what you are saying certainly makes me think twice.

Morthy was quite clear that creating multiple accounts to gain a good starting position is banned, and he said that in conjunction with "players will not be allowed to choose starting location". What would be the purpose of disallowing the ability to choose starting location if they are allowing players to delete then immediately join under a new account? They would then, in essense, be allowing you to choose your starting location.

If you are right Pyker, then the settings/rules are contradictory. If GiraffeNuke is right, then the admin's words are contradictory. Hmmm, what to believe????
