We are doing some research but I am not sure of the results. Can someone confirm the following:

Village 1 has the following research:

Swords Level 1
SF Level 1
Axe Level 3
LC Level 3
etc...

When village 1 sends an attack, with Axe and LC, level 3 troops will be in action no matter what research levels are available in the attacked village.

Village 2 has the following research:
Swords Level 3
SF Level 3
etc...

Village 2 sends support (swords and SF) to Village 1. Will these support units have level 3 defense or level 1 defense please?

Research indicates that no matter what the defensive village has (with regards to research), the smithy levels of the village being supported counts during an attack.

When defending they use the defendning villages techs. so if village 2 supports village 1 with swords then they will act as level 1. If village 1 was to support vilage 2 they would act as level 3.
