Sniping technique question

I've read that it is a good idea to have troops of each kind:
1. Cats
2. Swords
3. Spears/archers
4. HC

in every defensive village just to have at least 4 possibilities to snipe the nobblemen coming in other villages?

So even if D village is not specialized in swords or HC or cats it is better to have certain amount of each of these troops in any defensive village?
Is this correct?

My additional questions are:
1. Can I use rams instead of cats for this purpose? So I can send in support not 50 cats, for example, but 1 ram +100 swords+100 spears or 1 cat+100 swords+100 spears? So I use 1 ram or 1 cat to slow down my support just to have one more possibility to snipe the nobblemen.
2. Is it bad technique to have some defensive troops, for example, 100 spears+100 swords even in offensive village just to have more chances to snipe the nobbleman? Or this is not good and there is no reson in leaving certain amount of D troops in offensive village?

First question:

Yes this is advisable, though you only need a few swords (I recommend around 4-5 as you may lose some defending) if you aren't using them in your current build. Cats need to be in there for faking as well so are useful to have. You should have spears and hcav in most of your D builds (excluding times of no war use slower D for stronger prestacking) so not need to worry about those speeds. There is also lcav speed but you wont need this due to not having any D fast enough to travel with it.

Additional Qs:

1. Cats generally are used due to their better defensive values and due to their abilities to cat down backline villages assuming you are building quite a few. They are also useful on paladin worlds due to the bonfire. If you are tight on farm space then I would use rams as they cost 5 farm space as opposed to 8, which will fill essentially the same role in sniping.
2. Some people do do that, however it is my personal opinion that if one can snipe a train with 100 spears/swords, one can snipe with 100 lcav and one axe/sword just as easily. That said, as with D builds, it is advised to have a few swords/hcav for sniping as you wont find those speeds in offensive builds.

What D village means? Is it defensive?
And what means to be specialised in? I thought I have to build various deffensive units in one village....

Yes, he is talking about defensive village (D village). As for the second question; Like I understand Skipjack he is talking about having atleast few of every defense unit in every defense village even if your troop build-up do not include troops like swords or in other cases HC.

Build-ups like having Spear+HC defense or in other case Sword+Spear+Archer. One of those defenses doesn't include sword and the other one doesn't include HC, but having few swords in the Spear+HC defense can give you little advantage when timing your support landing.
