There really shouldn't be anymore family tribes. 150 player-limit is more than enough to cover all the devoted, active players a family/tribe can get.

i agree, they should just put them all in to one and let them get to the top.

Yeah I am a leader in one of the mentioned sister tribes (ACE2 if you are too lazy to look) and I got to say never felt so scared. We are really only sister tribes in name in my opinion. Feels painful to be looked on as pray to the experienced player...

I have a question for you, as most really good tribes have a private IRC, do you? If so, how many people are on usually?

Do you have an external forum? Are all your members registered on it?

And finally, do your members have good contact between tribes, if an ACE2 member is next to a ACE member do they defiently have a convo going?

Do you have an yellow dots in any of your tribes?

The answers to these questions prove what is wrong with family tribes.

I can tell you that I spend hours a day trying check on the tribe. Yah we have communication issues, and thanks for reminding me that I was supposed to do the irc thing. I'll tell you this though no yellow dots.

So far every family tribe has failed. Look at the world 3 war. It is a bunch of core elite tribes, vs 40+ family tribes, and the family tribes are losing.... Horribly. Family tribes are worthless. If you want to become an elite player, I suggest you join a tribe that shows promise to become an elite tribe. Then you will understand why people think so low of family tribes.

As a member of PDM a member of a family tribe on W3 I would like to tell you your wrong. Also IP wooped FTR on W3. Also KOD is far from 40+ tribes. More like 4. The only 40+ tribe that fell like stone was Union(which PDM OWNED) and OT another tribe PDM is owning. :icon_surprised:

This is pretty much it. Even if your huge 300+ member plus family tribe manages to fluke its way to victory by grinding everyone under sheer weight of numbers, you probably wont improve much personally unless youre surrounded by better players, which generally doesnt seem to be the case in family tribes. You just arent going to learn as much in a tribe full of average players.

Ok, so no IRC.

No external forums.

Bad communication.

No yellow dots in your section of the tribe.

So looking at these points, what is the point of the family tribe? In fact, what is the point of even being in a tribe... bad communication, isn't that the entire reason behind a tribe?

I'm just trying to prove how useless families are. A lot of good players get stuck being a duke of one and then realize their mistake too late.

And also, families tend to let anyone be a duke, so even if half the family is good, you have the other half talking like idiots.

heh well I only joined tw a few months ago and really thought that taking administrative part in a family tribe would buff up my skills. By now I see that probably won't work. I'm curious if there is anywhere I can get the education to be a better player.

Show you have potential (be the best in your area / demonstrate that you understand basic tactics / etc) and then ask one of the better tribes if you can join. Speaking personally, I thought I was decent as TW in W5 but then joined a good tribe (D.A.) and realised from talking to people in it that I was doing pretty much everything wrong. I doubt you get that sort of learning environment in most family tribes. It's like everything in life really - you generally develop skills fastest by being thrown into an environment where lots of people are better than you, and watching what theyre doing.

9 PDM
10 PTT-NE
5 out of the 10 are family tribes. Each has very good communication with exception of IP.
Also as a PDM member we have good communication between tribes, IRC, external forums, and yellow dots.
Just because you like to see family tribes as weak doesn't mean they are many family tribes individual owns a continent. Give them time to grow and they are force to recon with.

Yeah sometimes I feel like I am sim citying I am ranked 41 in the world right now and I know my army isn't close to being 41st in world. I do control my area and the only people I don't farm are being save to be future farms once they have upped resource productions. 2nd in cont. However, I don't know how to find an elite tribe

I was talking more about w5/w6 where family tribes tend to be made up of poor/average players. I've no idea what its like on w3.

Well when talking about family tribes you have to look at places like w1,w2,w3, and w4 that is were you see the families trive. Also given a long enough period of time they will grow and become an elite tribe. Also I want it know that King V brought up w3 originally so I wasn't trying to spam.
