State of Socks: Post-Ceasefire Analysis

Socks had been at war with much of the world when they lost their academy tribe, Socks2. This loss forced Socks — and many major tribes — to rethink their priorities.
Let's dive into what this global ceasefire has meant for the Socks accounts.

Categories of Socks Accounts

We can group the Socks accounts into three main categories, plus a few special cases.

Frontline Accounts

Being at war for so long, Socks holds a few large frontline accounts that were major players in the SPS and Bow wars. Let’s run through them one by one:

Big Bosss

Starting the month at rank 2 and now at rank 8 — a significant slowdown in growth, even after internaling both Soon and We Lack Creativity.
Sam claimed March was a bad month for his activity and he'd be back full force in April, but his current growth doesn't reflect that promise.

It doesn't help that his temper scared off numerous coplayers, leaving him to solo-play Big Bosss for most of the world.

BegoneNorway

Falling from rank 9 to rank 21 over three weeks — a dramatic drop.
Recruiting his food source into Socks cut off his access to brown dots, forcing him to jump and create a new rim cluster — tough break.

Usual Suspect

Despite having to defend a partial Shrek op on April 9th (even while diplo talks were ongoing — a blunder on all sides), Usual Suspect has dropped from rank 15 to rank 25.
Previously one of the most active and skilled Socks accounts, he's now landlocked after the Shrek diplomacy,

B Popo

Similar location to Usual Suspect but handled it much better: climbing from rank 35 to rank 27.
He still had barbs and brown dots left on the rim, so getting locked out of Shrek territory didn’t hurt him as badly.

It That Betrays

Minimal movement from rank 26 to 28.
After getting hammered during the SPS war, expectations were high for ITB to bounce back after the ceasefire — but it didn’t happen.
Comparing to a similar account, Supercow gained 90 villages in the last three weeks; ITB only gained 55 — thus most of his growth was just rebuilding fanged villages rather than real growth.

Sui.

A small rise from rank 34 to 31.
Had a cluster surrounded by brown dots, enabling easy growth without needing a risky rim jump.

Cubanmessiahm

On the rim with easy food — and he delivered, rising from rank 84 to rank 49.

Geafca

Rising from rank 119 to 86 — acceptable, though not impressive.
Landlocked deep in the core, struggling to jump to the rim.
For such an active small account, you would have hoped for more tribe support to boost their growth — but it hasn’t happened.

Pre-Existing Backline Accounts

Srebrenica

Despite strong numerical growth, still slipped from rank 6 to rank 8.
In absolute terms, one of the top village gainers in Socks, but the world simply outpaced them.

y3s i g0t snip3

After getting rimmed by TF, they’ve built back impressively: up from rank 15 to 9, mostly eating enemy rim tribes rather than internals.
Probably the best-performing Socks account right now — both ingame and diplomatically.
Recognizing Sam’s global unpopularity, Socks leadership has wisely presented them as the new friendly diplo face, with clear success.

Poljicani

Rose from rank 75 to 61.
50 villages gained — mediocre growth. Most of the rank increase is due to others getting rimmed rather than standout play.

Tottas

Everyone thought this account was dead — apparently not.
Up from rank 128 to 93, but only 30 villages gained — way below expectations for a Socks account.
Still feels like an internal waiting to happen.

(Relatively) New Rim Recruits

WhoKilledMickey

Solid growth from rank 17 to 12.
Mostly feasting on the remnants of his old tribe TF and a dead Shrek account — as expected for a rim account with no frontline pressure.

Roundhouse

Another TF recruit, growing from rank 40 to 26.
Similar story to WKM, but with a slight SPS front developing for future wars.

TheAngryChicken

From rank 64 to 46 — respectable growth for another rim account with easy food.

Undead Raport

From rank 69 to 56 — decent, but noticeably slower growth than the other new rim recruits.

Bankdosa1

Somehow managed to lose ranks (from 58 to 62) despite having plenty of brown dots around.
Impressive, in its own tragic way.

Special Cases

Retriver

A landlocked SPS recruit, dropped from rank 72 to 81.
Only 23 villages gained — fewer than even Tottas, our benchmark for “dead account.”
Feels like another internal waiting to happen.

Gigiplete

The Socks2 refugee who fled across the map to rebuild and, hopefully, exact revenge on those who wronged him.
His rank right now is irrelevant — let's see if he manages to rebuild.

KirkTheWineman

Nobody really knows why he’s still here.
Only 7 villages nobled in three weeks, but hey, at least he hasn’t hit delete — which is more than most of his fellow Warpigs can say.

Conclusions

Few of the original Socks accounts have benefitted much from the ceasefire; it's mostly the new rim recruits that have capitalized on the opportunity.

Why?

  • Poor Planning: Leadership didn’t focus enough on securing rim clusters for their frontline accounts, leaving many landlocked and stagnating.
  • Lack of Motivation: Some frontline players may be stockpiling nobles and waiting for war — but frankly, it seems more like they've lost motivation entirely.
When even one of Socks’ biggest early spenders can't be bothered to play event anymore, you know it's bad.

Maybe the ceasefire didn’t kill the Socks frontliners — maybe it just reminded them how much easier life is when you don’t have to play Tribalwars 16 hours a day.
Some of them clocked out the moment the fighting stopped... and forgot to clock back in?

Nice to see you haven't forgotten about us! While I continue to lurk on these posts, let me spend my money (which is the only thing I´m good at) before the event ends. These were sadly not my final numbers.. ew..

10/10 unbiased; can't wait for the next one. <3
