It's been a long time since one of these threads went up, but I think it's time. I was going to do a tribe thread, but that's pointless. So, what do you think? Who are the pretenders on this list, and who are the contenders?

A true contender for the title of the best player left on this world. Has his K wrapped up right now, and from what I've listened to seems to really understand how to fight. Not something that is a given at this point. With his positioning, and ability, he isn't going anywhere. A true asset to whichever tribe he happens to be in as he leads by example.

Manoka has been around the top of these charts since I can remember. I don't know him/her personally, but I've always respected the fact that he manages his village point total so vigorously. He's had the top village count since BS (Before Shevar), and yet he's continued to keep point totals down. This proves that he cares less about the leadership board than he cares about his potential to inflict pain on an opponent. Also...It's a b!tch to keep your village point totals calibrated when you take the amounts of villages at one time that you must to keep on that pace. This implies he is an anal, anal mofo. Which is a true asset in this game.

Don't know much about her, but I know she has a following. I like the fact that they have formed a smaller (member wise) tribe. She has grown quite a bit lately.

Has kept her village average high purposefully. This isn't an efficient strategy, but neither is it a deathblow to your account. She's in a good position since she's right next to me :), so she'll be around for as long as she wants to be. A trustworthy player.

Miss Piggy! In a good way. I've spent a great deal of time with Nestra. We've gone through a lot together. Some trying times. Through it all, I've been impressed with her ability to connect to people. She is a vastly underrated game technician as well. A true pal, and someone I look forward to working with for some time.

Got some good name recognition. One of the older crew who continues to bash away during these times of boredom. I don't know this player well, but I think he might also understand what I do. That this period of transition will not last forever, and fun times do await on this world.

ronny has been around for awhile. I guess everyone here has. Cluster is a little spread out. Some see that as a strength. He has lots of areas of potential expansion, so that's good.

I like Gruss's cluster. It reminds me of...Mine. Gruss was an old Rim guy, and I was an old -RB guy, so we didn't interact that much. Our clusters have grown closer and closer recently, and I have had the opportunity to chat a bit with him, and it's been a real pleasure. A good guy. A grown-up. And one of the last, relevant remains of old Rim, which is a title he should carry proudly. I look forward to working with this player more in my future.

A great name. Everytime I see his name, I think...TnT...Dynamite! TnT and I'll win the fight. TnT is an interesting case because he wasn't really very active for a long time. Then I left for a while, and I came back and the guy was huge. That indicates a strong level of organizational aptitude, which is probably the most important attribute a player can have at this point. Also understands some of the intricacies with script origination, so he's on my speed dial.

There are about 6-8 players in the top 20 that have skills in playing. There are 0 though that aren't barbmunching pointwhores.

How good are these players? I don't know. Characterizing the whole group as "Pointwhores" is an incorrect use of the term. A pointwhore is a a player who sacrifices troop count for point count. These players, as a whole, have not done that with some exceptions. Barb munching? Yeah, that's the state of the world right now.

Mm i'd like to enter the discussion between lt and warham.

Indeed a point whore is actually someone who has 12k villages and who prefers resources to mint coins then attacking people.
A top 20player with 11 or 12k who dont get into the top 50 ODa should consider him/herself as a pointwhore.

You can be nuking enemies all the time and being able to snipe/dodge play as the best, while nobling 100inactive vills in your home K.
I don't think you're a noob then because you eat 100inactive vills.

On this one i have to switch side and join warhams opinion.
You can always have fun and have enemy villages to eat.
Look I could have eaten another 200barbs in my home k (K13)
But i moved to east k16 and eat almost 250 or.d / or.d related player villages.
Rmc has present in k45/55 .... if you'd move to one of the frontline continents, you could have all the action and caps you want.
If you want to have more action, you land behind the front or in the middle of the enemy territory with a massive prepared invasion.

I'll shed an opinion on Manoka, Bit of an @ss, however, incredibly skilled player with alot of playing discipline, even if personal discipline can be lacking at times.

God, that makes me sound like a schoolteacher :/

Great player in my opinion. He has a cluster next to me in k2, and i've only taken 1 village right after he took it from Noddy. He also has very nice clusters and seems to not be too much of a Point Whore.

Perhaps it is as you say, but I play the game after my principles.
And that some are very jealous of what we managed to achieve - is possible, but each is entitled to an opinion.

Long ranged enoblements...Bore me to death. I know some people love to do this. Some people love creating a small cluster, and sending nukes 200 plus hours away. Not me. No way Jose. And I have two reasons for this. The first is that the time that is consumed with this type of warfare far exceeds the amount of time I have available for this game. I recently spoke to this guy that said that he fought a player and took a couple of villages from her by...Killing one hundred of his nukes for every village taken. Now, that's fine. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. But, I'm not sending 0100 nukes at one village because (oh shit, I'm going to give a secret away :O ) if the defending player had a brain in her head, she would have let the nukes go by, and sniped it back. Not rocket science there. The second reason piggybacks on the first. This type of warfare is inefficient. The increased costs sustained due to the increased amount of offensive resources needed to clear these villages is only worth it if the enemy you are beating is worthy of inefficiency. It's my opinion that there currently is no enemy worthy of these costs, although I respect your right to disagree. In short, fighting an enemy someone else chooses as my enemy won't make me abandon my efficient methodology. I'll search for enemies closer to home.
