Tutorial - First farm run

I think it odd that game gave me 5 spears and then suggested I use them to farm a barb, which it also suggested. The simulator says I'll lose one of them on the farm run, so I will get 100 resources and lose 90 for the spear.

Why not just give us 2 axes for escort the spears and let us farm right away.

I wonder how many new users just followed the advice and lost their spear. I'll delay my farm run until after the pally is birthed.

Does anybody know if the game gives any other "gifts" that might effect a smart opening?

I dont but, attack then cancel it,its not worth wasting 2 spears on an attack, just wait for pally(which you make first, need staue to train pally) then farm as much as possible.

Any regular player knows to run the farming with the paly...

Zoq, just send the attack and then cancel it. They´ll still give you the gift.

Oh wow, did as you suggested and it gave me more resources. That'll save me three hours. Everyone should do the same.

You get the gift before they ask you to send the attack.

I have to add -- it appears the people who designed the tutorial and give me recommendations when to farm and what to build REALLY don't know how to play the game. Sad.

Farming with 5 spears = fail
Building timber/farm before barracks = FAIL
Giving me resources if I follow bad advice = Just makes me mad.

ok mate, you can disable it than when your ready for your resources and stuff, activate it again and get the resources than.

While I'm ranting...Doesn't .net have more US players than anything else? Why is night arbitrarily set for the good old Germans?

Settings Should you not find "Night vision", the new unit icons or combat reports to your liking, the option to revert them back to normal is available in your Settings menu. Also, a few 'settings' items have changed position both to increase usability and leave more space for future options to be added.

wait...so does that mean I have to check this box and lose all the new UI? Maybe I will.

Building timber before barracks is fail? So what happens if you end up in an area with little to no barbs? :icon_neutral:

If you really have no farming options, normally I'd say wait a few hours because barbs will appear. You'd be really screwed without them.

I personally get the stuff donte then I cancell attack and stop resource building, then have the extra resources and than to build statue for pally farming, then spears are for spiking/defence

you can go ICT and get the res, or TCI, get the res, cancel and requeue
not to mention, anyone worthwhile build 1/1/1 res before rax.
