TW, a neverending game?

Dear world 10, I tried to figure out when a world officially ends. -WE- in world 7 has got more than 50% of the world and currently bashing their last enemy - so I thought we would be close to an end of our world. I remember CTRL in world 10 is clearly dominating their world, so I was wondering if the admins are telling you guys?

Heres my conversation with an admin. I apologize for my english, it's not perfect.

Hello agent 100,

World 1 has been open since 2006 and has not been closed, so I do not believe you are in any danger of your world being closed anytime in the near future.

World 1 is splitted up into many tribes. Here in world 7, -WE- has got around 50% of the total ammount of villages (not including barbarians). I was wondering what the official rules are, of when the world ends? How much of the world must a tribe own before they officially win?

Hello agent 100,

There are currently no guidelines for when a world ends. World 12 has one tribe group that has control of around 80% of the world I think.

But you must have figured out at which point a tribe has won the world? It can't be a never ending game. Wouldn't admins have set a line and saying, when a tribe owns this much, then win the world?

No, this point has not yet been reached.

When do you plan to create those guidelines then? It can be hard to keep interest if it's going to be a never ending game. Would be nice to get an exact goal to reach XX% of the world to win. I honestly think you should make such a guideline.

I'm afraid such matters are out our control. It's up to InnoGames as to when servers close.

So can you contact InnoGames for me and find out when they decide a tribe has won and pass the answer on?

Morthy

There's no set limit. It's more to do with when the player counts are low enough that running a world is no longer economical.

And around how many players would that be? And is that players that's paying for premium only, or also the players that play without premium?

Morthy

There is no set limit. Worlds are simply reviewed every so often.

They must know when they spend more money on the server, than they earn on premium?

Morthy

Nope, because the way we host worlds doesn't quite work like that.

Why is it impossible to get a real answer to when a world ends? when you first started the game, you must have thought of when it should end? I know you are trying to get as many money out of a world as possible. It's a game made to earn money and give people something to enjoy in the sparetime. All I want to know, is when the world is going to end, it must be possible for you to research and get that answer.

You can't get something that doesn't exist. This is what I have been trying to explain for some time now.

As soon as we have information to release on the matter there will be an announcement.

No, we are not.

Why not? Some tribes already clearly won their world, sorry, world 12 has. We only just started our last war. But like world 12, do all of them have to delete their accounts, when theres no more real enemies left?

Morthy
2010-04-12 03:48:18
There's no requirement that a world should close when a tribe seems to have won. If players no longer wish to play, they can stop playing. If not, then we're not going to close with hundreds of players.

To me it seems there won't be any end, but what are they telling you?

WHwhy you make so many questions?
in the other servers the worlds finish when the players said we are the last one and we do nto hit each other or our ally and we want to stop.look what happne in german servers.

I would make so many questions because he never would give any facts about when the world would end exactly ;o, but thank you, if that's really how a world can be ended.

A world ends when it costs innogames more money than the world is making.

Any idea of how many premium accounts it takes to make a world profitable ?

The two worlds that have closed to date (.de) had 69 and 57 players. One german world is still open and has 79 players.

How many premium players there were on each, I have no way of knowing. Given the figures available, the numbers are pretty low.

There simply isn't a sort of 'end game' for tribalwars yet, and maybe there never will be.
Thus the only way they'll shut down a server is when it's no longer profitable.

I'm amazed morthy kept his cool. You just asked the same question over and over again.

In answer to your question, I think DS 1 ended when the remaining 5 or 6 active players agreed for it to be closed.

You -WE- players on W7 spamming Morthy?

We have the same thread on W12 created by a different W7 player.

Well I would expect this to work by a percentage of premium users in total number of players still playing the world. Because if 70 or so premium players make the server profitable, then InnoGames is raking in money from worlds with 10-30k players.

well that sucks i could play one world for years upon years then die and not know if i won ? Lol

Well i heard that a world will close if there is less than 100 people and less than 20% of them pay for premium

Why can you just re-open worlds give people like a 2 month re-opening protection so people can build up a little a to challange those bigger one's it will be profitable people will buy premium and make people that who dont want a world to end happy

and do you think that a player in 2 months will be able to rise up an account that could war against players with 20+ mio?

check w12 where i play, we have players with 0 points and 0 village but that still are in the server because once a week they log on but dont respawn, so basically we dont see them on the map but they have an account.

Plus there are players that continue to restart, we wait that beginner protection ends and we attack them, if they have 2 vills we cat them, but they continue to stay.
For us in w12 this is not TribalWars but TribalCleanUp, and do you want to let other players come in?
fool :icon_eek:

for the red part, those players can join new worlds, know new people (and meet old ones) and let us end the world. :icon_wink:

W27 I believe should be close to closing soon. I have spoken to one of their members and once they clean up the remaining straggling tribes, all of the tribe will cease buying premium. I guess innogames wont have a choice but to close it then.

If you take a look at w27 there aren't that many active players left nobling. Those that are nobling up the barbs are getting nobled even faster by the main tribe, Opposed to here in w10 where there are still some active players nobling up a good chunk of barbs. Lets face it though, there are probably a lot more people not willing to let go of w10 then some other worlds. W10 was a classic.

lol KingJame$, come to see w12 maps, in DNY we have lots of players leaving for boredom, no enemy that can reply to attacks...
in the last 3 days, noble stats are:

DNY : 83 players, 473 villages nobled
REST OF THE WORLD : 190 players, 54 villages nobled (99% barbarian)

we are the first world under 300 players (273 atm), we own 94/100 ks, 1/3 of ALL villages (105.000 of 336.000 villages considering also barbs), of conquered villages DNY have 105.000 villages while all the others players 25.000.

and still we cant know when we'll declared winner :icon_eek:

ps this is our ranking, we have a 2nd page but is useless..
