W30 Favorite Memories

With the end fast approaching, I wonder if anyone has any particular memories which stand out in this world.

I remember:

- PinkyToes' awesome external forum post on the battle between Black Dawn and TARDIS (/DeathNote) with cartoons from both tribes headquarters.

- Fighting with csiz (during the BD war) over a single village which we cap'd and recap'd off eachother something like 16 times.

- Paj's super-fast internal noble on Dota Rifleman's frontline, after R2 decided to quit playing the account. I am pretty sure that his 178 villas in one day (on enemy frontlines!) stands as a W30 record.

- I also remember taking the sit on Paj's account after that stunt, and trying to fend off BH's (remarkably effective) counter strike. Wasn't until later we realized the Norin account had been hacked/stealth hi-jacked, and info was being fed to the enemy. Ah, fun times.

- How about Soldier1stClass, disbanding TARDIS? ... Man, I was pissed after that one. Not so much at Soldier, as at our Duke for giving him the sit in the first place, and not demoting himself.

- And a memory from the early days: Spying on T-W-C and getting the inside story on Shipley's Sitting Service. Say what you will about his arrogance & self-aggrandizing attitude, he did take a bunch of n00bs and turn them into a force for continental domination.

Anyone else have favorite memories of W30 to share?

I will have to think of my fav memory but the bigest memory is of getting DK account back after BOBBY NAKED had destroyed all the churchs and sent troops hours and hours, as I spent time trying to build churchs and set up dodges and recaps, I pressed the troop script to make troops to find it sent me to gay porn sites, the more I tried to get off these sites, the more tabs opened !!!!!!
I smile now but was not happy at time and wife had never seen anything like it hahahahahahhahahahahaha

I s'pose it's a good thing, if the Wife had never seen anything like those sites. Means she isn't browsing for hardcore entertainment while the hubby is off at (tribal)War.

best dam fight we had on w30 was with BD while they were around even though they were checking out at the time, miss pinkytoe even big mouth guc he at least had the balls to back his mouth with even if he did bail in the end.

have to say raven that was one wore out village when it was all over with made a soho whore tight...lol

hardest fight I had was with raven keeping dam villages, most punishing fight had to be with dave an his 2500 nuke catting he did while we exchanged blows took me awhile to rebuild k25 so I could keep pushing my way into k15.

worse player was fench or at least I thought it was till I went up against kojeko an koj made french looks pro and hands down that took allot of doing.

most fun fight had to be with RAM we were exchanging blows with catters an it was who could out last the worse punishing blows an ram couldn't hang with us on that one with all of us loving rebuilding except paj who still screams when he runs into a area that I have visited recently...lmao

what happens when some tribe decides to take us on they at first think hey we will have such a easy time battling these guys hell we out number them we have the numbers so no problems,as time goes by an they are not gaining the easy war they thought they would have suddenly they start turning on those they think are not helping out the cause an then its total war among them blaming each other for their problems.

we on the other hand takes the loss at first roll up our sleeve's smile an say well lets get cracking an move our support to the new front, all while opening fire on that front with our nukes building nobles on that front taking back those we are losing slowing the bleeding down till our support arrives, then we go on the march crushing the weakest players along that front an slowly gain new territory for ourselves an in the end winning that war by wearing them down an causing them to fight among themselves.

It has been almost a full year since I left this world. I have been keeping track of events though as I have been playing in 2-3 new worlds for some weeks ever since.
I have alot of memories from W30, as I spent alot of time playing this eternal web game. A game that tests someone's psychology to the limit and also devours time. Like a monster :)

Back in Hammer days, "The training". The assault to K15. We were expanding. We were not a premade.

Then BH vs Hammer WAR. I mailed the BH Duke (as it turned out to be) - wildcats to keep off my long range "deathstars" - (must have been in K14). Then ... WAR :)
Then ... THE (the hotshots of the time) took advantage and hit our defenseless rear south flank in K25. How ... unexpected :)
I quit for some weeks and came back as soon as I saw that the replacement player was a jerk.
Some few of us who wanted to continue playing, merged to BH. I disbanded Hammer.
THE was not very happy. I remember bookie and Jubal :)
Then THE vs BH War. Massive. Very good war. THE ... ended.
Then BH seemed as unstoppable to win the world. Phoenx looked ... small but very stubborn. So an alliance was established, and it was supposed to be a joyride winning.
Then BH hit RAM. Phoenx - our ally made sure RAM (dominating the southeast quadrant) was soon no more.
Then ... chaos. BH's leaders (@#$%@%@@) got over-excited and decided that Paj and crew was a target-to-kill. Our allies were foes-to-be.
I disagreed and deleted my account.
After some weeks and as soon as I realised that Phoenx was suffering losses, I picked up the WORSE HIT frontline account of Phoenx. dota rifleman. Brought it up from 3-4 mil to near 15 mil pts, after spending -once more- hundred of hours playing. Playing an amazing teamwork game with Phoenx's finest players and the silent Duke - Paj. Yes he was silent. No bs. No telling me what to do. Few igms. He knew, we/they knew what to do. It was done. With noone ever sitting me.
Then the attacks from BH against former Decide players infrlc and ChamichA. How pathetic this was... Hitting two players who had helped BH get to where it was.
LoEN decided it was time to make an appearance in the world and ... hit BH. LoEN has been a true ally to Phoenx.
BH disbanded. Endgame.
I stopped last Xmas (a long before BH disbanded). I was exhausted and RL kicked in real hard. dota rifleman account was internalled in a massive op under heavy BH attacks - should be on a manual, if there ever going to be a manual in TW ops.

Icon players of this world except for Phoenx's crew:

onny123. niklam. si113. Jubal. McMellow. bigbrt. wildcats. troikos. belvalcor. parmenion.
- special mention: ravenj/W30's cloaked player :)

Best posts ever:

1. Cy's "Phoenx ops manual" - BEST!
2. Pinky's cartoons as Raven pointed out - silver medal
3. Ravens poem for my deletion as r2d3 - Amazing... :icon_redface:

Congrats to Phoenx for winning the world - and HAPPY FARMING IN A NEW ONE (btw no-hauls are very good you should know ;) )!

robot out

Actually it was my first world afterall :p

Greetings old friends,

It's been awhile hasn't it?
I was talking to Raven and (s)he let me know that R2 had said some nice things about me so I figured I may as well post a memory or two. Cheers R2.

Where to begin?
I suppose there is no point in rehashing memories of TGoW's growth and eventual rename to BH.
Probably the same story as every other tribe that lasted more then 6 months...
Not worth mentioning the details of the back and forth war we had with Hammer.
Probably the same story as every other tribe that lasted more then 1 year...
I won't go into the details of how we grew to be number 1 for a time.
Probably the same story as every other tribe that made it to the number one spot...

So what memories do I take from this silly game?
The friends and enemies found and made in the game.
There are just too many so I won't even try and list them however some I was lucky enough to meet in real life and we made some great TW memories together.
The infamous BH "council meetings" for example where 2/3 of council became quite intoxicated at Wildcat's house...
Truly some great times.

At the end of the day isn't that what it's all about?

Kindest regards friends and enemies alike,
BelValcor

Forgot one of my favorite memories (probably due to an overdose of ego, but I'd be remiss in not mentioning it):

TARDIS had lost the war. BlackDawn sent out an application to the enemies they deemed worthy of joining their winning team, and a note that applicants would have to submit to a Skype interview by the Dukes, before they would be considered for membership.

My intention was to delete my ravenj account, so I figured for a last laugh, I would answer their application with one of my own. I demanded that the Dukes fill it out, and added a note that the Dukes would be expected to submit to a Skype interview to determine if they were worthy of recruiting me.

Badlapje actually filled out my application, and Canine set up an interview.

(Huge ego boost, that. I can't deny it. It was enough to shock me out of my intention to delete, and make me realize that maybe I still had something left to offer W30 beyond sarcastic wit and occasional bit of poetry.)

More than that, tho: through the interview process and my later membership in BD, I learned a lot about what makes a good Duke, and Canine & Baddie are still high on my list of Best Dukes Ever.

Thanks for keeping me in W30, and letting me experience my first real "Elite" tribe.

Nice post r2d3 - I love learning about what happened in other parts of the world besides the West - lets have more of that. In the first many years I knew absolutely nothing about the world politics - I was just a loyal foot soldier until around 2012. I remember that rethae had a hard time accepting my complete ignorance of the state of the world, when we started talking :)

Anyway, I would like to make a small corrections to your account of the events: LoEN and BH engaged in war long before BH attacked phx. The LoEN-BH war started full scale in May 2011. As I remember the BH-PHX war started in Marts 2012. In fact we were utterly astonished that BH would throw away the victory by turning on Phx since at that time it was clear that we could not hold out forever against the BH onslaught - but they did :)

I was not going to do this but oh well a few things need to be set straight.

I am sure that most will not believe me but I was in the council did know what was going in BH just love how others think they know when they have no idea what was really going on. The war with Pnx was not decided by me but by those players that R2 thought where so great. Wildcats and big brt where the reason the war started with Pnx and they are the ones that I could not talk into finishing off Loen. I had pushed for the tribe to go after Loen since that was the only war at the time that was all ours. They did not like that idea since they had always focused on the East. By that time things had gotten very bad between Pnx and BH due to the egos on both sides. R2 always thought I was making all those decisions he hated so much but in reality those where being pushed by others in council.

I know all about it. You are correct. It was their "call" but you should have strongly disagreed in that council - especially with hitting Luis + Cham. I put them in my small "hall of fame" as I did fight some good battles against them in the past days of Hammer vs BH. That is all really. As for TW "politics" ... meh... They better return foot soldiers next time :D I also remember you as a good fighter - especially when I watched those "rose***" villages of yours appear in K15, but you kinda destroyed the image I had for you after fraternizing with shitley (oops :D) and "adopting" the general BH vs Phoenx idea and the sudden strike BH initiated against Phoenx. No hard feelings. You made it to the end. I did not. Nevertheless, I hold Paj responsible for bringing you in to Phoenx in the end phase, but he knows better (or most probably he was drunk :p).

@ Derteufel. Your post is most probably correct. I am sorry for not having all the details of the southwest world. I should probably edit my first post, but, this is how my memory recalls all of it, mainly because LoEN never actually had a presence in the externals, other than Sir Mike's and his ton of fun posts :) You all did splendid in LoEN, someone should probably write a small story of how this silent running tribe of yours got to win the world with its allies :)

Aaah this world is finally ending! According to twstats I was last seen in w30 on the 25th June 2010 :icon_eek:, an eternity ago now - but I have to say, I don't miss setting alarms for the middle of the night to send a train or dodge

Although I don't have any particular stand out memory from this world, I can say with confidence that it was my best and most enjoyable. Not because it was particularly challenging in anyway, but because of the people which joined the world with me and the people I met along the way; I miss you guys! :icon_sad:

For me, -O- and TARDIS were the best tribes, but hey I'm biased because I was in them! :icon_wink:

Special mention to ravenj, I could say a lot but I think to sum it up a 'truly unique player' covers it. I'm glad I played alongside you.

- PinkyToes' awesome external forum post on the battle between Black Dawn and TARDIS (/DeathNote) with cartoons from both tribes headquarters.

...and we're in agreement here. This has to be the best thread. Although, I found this interesting too....oh and how can we forget this! :)

There are too many old stories and memories to mention, big stories anyway. Back a few years ago, there was a one village account inside a cluster of mine on the rim in K95. I had been popping a few barbs there to build up defensive troops for the front line players. This one village player had his village maxed out. 12164 points. And tribeless. I had nobled a barb and he kept trying to farm it. I mailed him asking him to lay off that village and farm somewhere. He wouldnt hear of it so I messaged him and told him there was a place for his village in the tribe I was in and this guy got all excited... I just didnt tell him he wasnt coming with it. 8 nukes, 4 half nukes and some fakes and in a 24 hour time frame I had reduced the 12164 point loner village to just under 9000 points. It joined Drift, the player didnt. He restarted, at the opposite end of the world. Beginner protection expired and I launched fakes that took days to land. If he hadnt gotten an attitude with me, Id most likely helped him, took him under my wing much like some of the players in other tribes did for me when i started. Those were the days!

Me on the Wakews account sitting Turple frontline account in the BD war.

Me sitting Rach in the BD war too, I think? Or was it a LoEn conflict?:p

Some time after that I had RL issues - A heavy truck accident, lost memories and a leg.

I popped up like 1.5 year later as Bull's co. Went from 9mill till where it's now.

The times Pat and I catted our way through everything lol.

The RAM war(Where I joined bull's account half way in) God, those RAMmites did some serious damage lol.

Just for the rest, Thanks to everyone in Phoenx, especially the ones I met in w30, like Bronse, Bankdude, Flo, Raven and our other comrades!

My favorite memories of W30 have little to do with ingame.

-Meeting Jon (Jonboy920) in Memphis when my family travelled there, after the countless hours spent on the phone discussing how to best handle NADs, the tribe that I led that held K75,85,95,96
-Going out to lunch with Bullmastiff, Taoron, and warfighter20 to a TGI Fridays after we discovered that 4 people within the 30 member Phoenx lived around the Milwaukee area
-Subsequent times hanging out with the cool college students Bull and Taoron at Bull's apartment (I was 16-17 at the time)
-All of the great RL advice given to me by Paj, as much as a loudmouthed dick as he is, hes actually got a decent head on his shoulders
-Being taken under Badlapje's wing early on- with W30 being my first TW world ever, it was very special for a newbie to be taken under the wing of one of the most fear-inspiring players on the server.

Like others, my favourite memories of W30 are of the awesome people I met.

I joined W30 when I was about 13/14 years old and the two or so years I spent here were a good part of my childhood. I'm a lot older now, but can be found from time to time with a faint smile on my face thinking back to some of those crazy skype chats we had at two in the morning.

I can't even think of someone I had rather not met, the players and general community of this world was far superior to any subsequent world I have played. Credit to those who have stayed playing for this long and I hope everyone has gained as many great memories.
