Behinds the scenes story of the day Jester was kicked from NERD....and...let back in.
This was the email that was sent out to the tribe after I was kicked. Kev has just hit me with 1000+ attacks and inside he had a a few nukes and nobles. His attack landed while I was at work, although the whole fake lasted several hours. The 1000+ incomings were 10+ days long. Also, he sent 1000+ support troops after it. In all, I had 2000+ attacks and supports coming at me. It so slowed down my computer that I couldn't do much with the attacks. I had let xmach and others know that Kev was up to something.
Anyway, I came home the day of the attack and he had taken one of my villages....like I suspected he would. Most of my nobles were out and the ones I had were a day away. So, I started building nobles near by with plans to attack the next day. I only spent 4 hours in the afternoon at the most on TW at that point. I mentioned to others that I would take the village back. I really didn't worry much about it.
The next day, my account and the account I was sitting in NERD was booted from NERD and I had several nobling attacks coming in from NeRD. This email I got from my sitting account, it was booted after the mail went out by xmach.

I'm posting his villages up in the forums, there won't be any claiming, as I want his villages taken IMMEDIATELY! I realize some of you may lose nobles in cross-nobeling, but thats not important, whats important is that we don't give him a chance to get stacked.
I don't know what convinced him to betray nerd, but a week ago he said he was planning on quitting this world in the near future but would stick around for a while to see things taken care of. Then he lost the village to Powers without requesting help, and without counterattacking. The amount of support troops that landed in that village would have had to have been sent 100-200+ hours away and land right after a noble train, he's good enough to have noticed somethign like that. There was previous doubt about his loyalty when the screenshot of a forwarded mail had his name on it. And when he originally joined NERD for the first couple of weeks he was spying for .:i:. and came clean to me about it, i chose to give him a chance to be loyal to nerd, and thought he had. I'm trusting by nature, and don't like being suspicious of people, had it only been one or two pieces of questionable evidence, i'd have given him the benefit of the doubt, but when 5-10 things add up without explanation, I can't ignore them.
There is even more evidence, but the point is, I didn't come to this decision lightly, as there were only a few nerds I trusted more than him. This is a blow to NERD, but its not one we can't overcome. His villages will be recycled into other NERD and so we won't lose the power territory, and with his lack of participation lately in the ops (waldorf was the one who launched his troops for him in the last op), we're not really losing much in fighting power either.
With patadia recently found out as a cheater and a spy for Powers, banned and booted from nerd, and now jesterpj, that should remove 2 of their spies but we'll be actively searching for any other potential spies. Which is why everyone needs to follow the tribe policy of setting me as their sitter. Unless you have another player as a sitter for war purposes,
EVERY MEMBER needs to send me an account sitting request, I will not accept request unless I have a strong reason to.

My original instinct was to give the beneift of the doubt to jester, but i let the recent betrayal's by hackervirus and patadia corrupt my senses.
I am not immune to making mistakes, and I freely admit that 90% of this misunderstanding was on me. The amount of circumstantial evidence and the recent inactivity due to his RL issues, his forgetting to reset me as account sitter and my disbelief that kev225 who I consider to be barely above a noob in ability level could manage to noble and hold jester's village combined for a nasty cocktail of paranoia that I let get the better of me.
I'm not even kidding when i say that I lost hours of sleep last nite trying to reconcile my conflicting ideas on this situation.
I apologize to jester and the rest of the tribe for my momentary lapse in judgement, I guess i am human after all, who knew?
Please if you were quick to pull your support from jester, please resend it back out to him.
I don't want anyone to flame xmach on this. He was doing what he had to do to keep the tribe strong. I never got mad at him. I was not following some rules that was for everyone and I wasn't even following them and I was a baron. He had more reasons posted and when you added them all up....he made the right decesion to boot me.
Powers had done a great job and creating a little havoc in Nerd. The previous weeks, there was a photoshopped/doctored screenshot that made me look like I was a spy feeding into to Powers.
Then, Kev did a great job at blinding me and taking a village deep in NERD territory. I don't know if he reviewed TWSTATS or got lucky, but he landed on an offensive village that would have fell with just one nuke. I don't know if he nuked it several times. Those 2000+ reports overfilled and deleted themselves. It was a great move my Kev....I will always admit that.
Xmach and I laugh about that now, but that night was a hard night. Xmach is a great guy and player. I know a lot don't like him, but he takes care of his own. He does a great job at leading a tribe.
I don't want anyone to flame xmach on this. This isn't to show any weakness on his part. NeRD was in the thick of things with Powers doing some serious damage on the war front and on the boards and spies had been a problem. My early history as a nerd was that of a spy helping out old immortal friends while they were in chess. Once Chess failed, I came clean. Xmach eventually trusted me enough to make me a baron and returned me to that status immediately after he resended the booting of me in NERD.
This post should show how Powers and Kev did a great job at creating havoc in NERD and between the duke a baron. I will give them all the deserved credit on that!
