I believe people have the right to do what they want with their accounts. Anphinex was not around long enough to benefit from membership in Storm so I don't think he was under any obligation to let us have his villages. If he had been in Storm from the beginning, then I would have a different opinion because it could be argued that a long-time member of Storm was successful with the help of his tribe. However, even with that said, sometimes players delete their accounts because they feel they've not been dealt with fairly in the tribe.

Having been the leader of Storm (which I am not any longer since I stepped down) I can tell you it is difficult to deal with all the internal issues between members that crop up in a tribe. In my experience, there are three cliques in any tribe...much like the makeup of any football team.

1. Strikers: The Offensive-Minded players that are always in the middle of a fight and do most of the village taking.
2. Midfielders: A player that will participate in an Op by sending nukes/fakes/support, and may or may not not take an enemy village. If they do take a village it is after the Op has been well under way and there is mopping up to do because the frontline has moved on.
3. Backs: a defensive-minded player that is practically all defense and will participate in an Op by mostly sending support/fakes with a few nukes, but will not take an enemy village.

The mistake that most tribes make is in thinking that #3 (and some extent #2) is not pulling their weight and contributing to the success of the tribe. The trick as a leader is to get the most out of your people by encouraging their strengths. You cannot make a striker out of a back. It will not happen and a leader shouldn't waste their time trying to make it happen. You can't change a person's basic nature through a game.

So, with all that said, Strikers believe that the majority of internal nobles should go to strikers, and some middies, but never backs. This attitude is the major cause of discord within tribes and in my experience causes some middies and backs to eventually quit because they don't feel they are appreciated. I'm Not saying this happened with Anphinex, but I know this happened with others in Storm.

Raiko, that's the best synopsis and assessment of how a tribe usually consists of and works and some of the basic issues any leader of any tribe or family tribe has to deal with. Each member of the tribe/family needs to be valued for the part he/she/the member tribe plays and none should be discounted just because their part is different from someone else's. The only one's that shouldn't be counted are those who are inactive at any stage of tribe level or go totally inactive. It would be fantastic if every tribe or family leader would keep your assessment in mind when planning and executing ops, since that would make the ops far more successful in both the long and short run.

As for what to do with an account, it's up to the owner's wishes, true, but either it should be sent to be sat for internal nobling, or the owner keep going for a time (like I did) in order for the vils to be nobled out by mates, family, friends and allies. If by a certain time the vils have not been nobled out and the owner for whatever reasons cannot continue to do so, then it should be no disgrace in the owner choosing to delete their account. Yes, that can and does have a detrimental effect on the tribe/family by opening it up more for enemies to noble the barbs as well as not being able to move troops around, but if sufficient time has gone by for all the vils to be nobled out by friendlies and they haven't done so, then, as far as I'm concerned, it's on them, not the owner. Regardless, when any player leaves it effects everyone in the tribe/family for good/bad to some extent.

However, to delete an account without any forewarning at all, like in anphinex case, is not fair play. Regardless of how much or little time anphinex was in Storm, he and/or his co's chose to join Storm, and therefore, whether he was satisfied or dissatisfied with that arrangement, imho he should have given his tribe some way to internal his account or given a longer warning of his intentions.

i did not see this before, and thank you raiko, and my major reason for deleting is i was bored, and was temporary interested in something else more so then tw :) some things have changed in rl and i am back in tw on w44 now, and will be here for some , fun, i hope to bring some excitement back to w44, and i might even stop some from quiting.

the fact i had threatened to quit since june if i couldn't find a co, is not a longer warning? the fact i told my would be co's that wernt dedicated and dind do crap i wanted them to take the account if they did well? thats warning i think.... and like raiko said i wasnt there long enough to be atached, but i did do them a favor be deleating.... as that stoped me from doing other thinsg with the account... i could have gave it too under...

well I'm glad you're back on w44 again, miwok. I might still have the opportunity to rim you since you didn't take on someone else's account but are restarting from scratch like I will be.

as for excitement, those of us in O and the RAW family have plenty of that, even if it's not being posted about.

As for you stopping people from quitting, if you can do that, great. However, imho I highly doubt that you are capable of doing that. If someone is sick and tired of either this world or the game, you're not going to change their minds. There's a saying used in evangelism: "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still." And it goes for this game as well as for evangelism and other RL issues.

there's a difference between your continued threats to quit and my arranged plan to take a vacation from w44 to handle RL issues and reclaim the Stardust account. You kept changing your mind so much that by the time you actually deleted your account no one believed you anymore. And as far as stopping you from doing other things with your account, maybe I should publish one of our chats where all you wanted was to stab Storm in the back?

My decision to gift the paver vils to members of RAM and later UNDER was in keeping with my change in stance when it came to them and my gratitude to them for not rimming me when I first took the account. It enabled me to do some things I could have never been able to achieve as Stardust (i.e. be able to pull off the consolidation of the Circle family into WOLFPK and support my tribe and family mates, friends and allies), as well as more or less being forced by the situation to begin to learn how to use scripts.

Whether that decision to gift the paver vils to RAM and UNDER was good, wise or whatever or not will be determined in time. I'm not infallible and never said I was perfect nor have I ever said I knew everything about this game I need to know. In point of fact, on many occasions on a multitude of threads I have always stated I'm a noob with some experience with the desire to learn what I don't know.
