Why are we still doing player made maps when all worlds are using updating maps that are much better?

Why are we still doing player made maps when all worlds are using updating maps that are much better?
There is a certain 'personal' quality to player-generated maps that make them far more pleasing and entertaining to view.
If you aren't familiar with the demand for them, go ahead and peruse through various worlds' map threads. While the auto-generated maps are convenient, they tend to be cluttered and impersonal. Do they display the top 3 tribes of a particular continent? Do they focus on a war and its participants?
There will always be a need for those players who can create maps out of a certain personal aesthetic.
