Hi,

I know you haven't seen moderation on this world for a little while but that shouldn't really be excuse for the flagrant disregard for the forum rules I've seen on here recently. I've been assigned this world as notice that someone IS actively watching here, and not just relying on reports.

On the most part, W74 is a pretty quiet world (last couple days aside). There are some bright posters here and the politics themselves don't seem to be especially catty, so I'm not anticipating many problems. The majority of you are actually pretty pleasant guys to read from.

That said, I have a few reminders I want to make clear now about specific rules that are particularly relevant here.

Personal insults

If you're bringing a poster's attributes into play - whether's that's age, sex, education, employment, nationality, whatever - you're being personally insulting. We have a very short tolerance for this on the TW forums, where pretty much the only 'acceptable' insults are game-related: cowardice, lack of integrity, hypocrisy, disloyalty, all fine. If you have to bring someone's intelligence into discussion, you're crossing the border. If it's the SOLE content of your post, you're likely to be punished more harshly than if you get a bit worked up in the context of a political assertion or rebuttal.

Inappropriate language

We're pretty PG here. Lots of kids play this game. I don't think anyone needs to be informed about the more colourful language we tend to resort to on the internet, but there's a couple I'm going to cover that may not be apparent. On the most part, these are contextual. If you target them harshly, it's probably not okay. If in doubt, use a less contentious word.

Shit - generally, okay. Your tribe is shit. You play like shit. That's a load of shit and you know it. These are passable (I still think they're a little unpleasant, though.) 'You're little more than shit on my boot' - too personal, don't do it.

Bitch - in a game-related context, we let it slide. People bitch about things they don't like. Tribe plays like bitches. That car is bitchin' (notice the lack of 'g'.) 'You're a bitch' - probably not okay.

---

So, bearing that all in mind - the general procedure with rulebreaks is that we'll edit out anything that's not really a big deal without any punishment. We'll warn first for MOST rulebreaks, unless you've been particularly naughty. We infract if you have a past record and should really know better. You're only going to get a ban if you repeatedly break the rules in a short space of time. Most people these days have relatively clean records and it's easy to keep them that way, since we try not to hand out infractions like candy like the old days...

If you want to ask questions about what is and isn't acceptable, this is an appropriate thread to do so in. If it's about something someone else has posted, you should either PM me first, or report it and I'll get to it.

Also, for full disclosure: I played W74 a long time ago, in HOPE. I have no grudges to hold and, if anything, have pleasant experiences with most I do remember (dagan comes to mind!). I asked to be assigned W74 to handle it in a professional capacity, but if you do feel I'm being unfair to you, you should speak with Jirki or any other elder moderator about it, with any evidence.

Thanks

Want me to go get Faaaaark? :D If somebody can find Booza, maybe him too. :D

*Waits for somebody to get infracted and then claim Irontusk is bias.

Gosh haven't spoke with Booza since last July the last time I saw him on skype....miss the guy.

I haven't seen him since he went MIA in April of 2013. I haven't heard from him since before that. I've been wondering what ever happened to him. I don't know if something happened to him in r.l., or if he up and quit playing t.w. and getting on skype at all, or what.

To be fair, the only person who ever seriously upset me on 74 is one of the previous owners of your account :icon_razz:

I do however have fond memories of MMx2, who I believe still plays. So don't mess with him on my watch!!1

You mean the original Mannie? Josh is actually the 3rd owner I believe? He came onto the account after it was booted from Loyal for talking to NME about joining.

Yes MMx2 is still around.

If it isn't to personal, would you be able to tell what happened with the Mannie account before i took over, i have been searching to get a better story with the past of Mannie. and yeah i'm the third owner of the account.

Not to fussed if its in Inbox or on here, up to you though.
Josh-

The original mannie was a chap called Alista(i?)r, who was greatly lauded for ability and generally being a good dude.

RL caught HOPE pretty hard, and along with a bunch of others, he left for quite some time, with his coplayer - Martin - taking over, for what'd be for good. Around this time is when I joined.

To his credit - Martin did a fairly good job with the account. He kept it active and contributed to the tribe. We all took our turns with the extensive sit rotation in the wartime, though some more than others... hehe.

Only, the thing is, after a month or two of war and like 10 people left, we were getting a little stretched thin, and I guess it was at this point Martin realised we probably weren't making it through this, and - I expect in a decision informed both by wanting to finish the world, and wanting to make sure he could sleep a few times before it ended - joined Soon (Loyal), and utterly ruined me by complete surprise, pulling his support and attacking me in backline positions (we were all wrapped around eachother by necessity) within the minute of leaving. (Anygma went with him, though I dunno if we got incomings from him too. I was pretty content playing 75 at this point anyway).

I don't really resent the decision - it was a very stressful time for those of us doing all the sitting, and we were definitely running thin on resources... Martin had real life obligations to keep him busy at least half the day, and we didn't really have the resources to just stack anyone that needed it. I was sore about it for a while though for a lot of reasons :)

edit: and for the record, Martin turning on me like that wasn't really the finishing blow - MMx2 was the one who did all the heavy lifting shortly before this... so while I was insulted, I don't think Martin forced me out of W74 bypassing a fair fight or anything.

the tribe I started in, most of the members ended up in NME anyway - tlite and yniets were there, and I believe yniets is coplayed by a guy whose name I can't QUITE remember but... he was pretty damn good, which was a nice surprise in a very late start rim tribe just holding things together while getting sandwiched by shady big boys from both sides :P

Uh, actually that's because servy went into retirement (whatever that is) and jirki found other places to be.

Now that I think of it, is there any way to prove that jirki is indeed not servy under an alias or something?

and jirki found other places to be.

I don't think I've ever seen Jirki actually post. He's like a magical unicorn. You're pretty sure he exists, you just never see him. Does he actually play Tribal Wars any more, or does he just mod?

Kind of the same way with Morthy. These days Morthy only posts the things he has to, stuff about worlds opening/closing, update discussions, etc. The last time I heard of him actually playing on a world was world 56. Anybody know of a more recent world?

I've just not posted in places you frequent! O_O (this proves I'm not servy, he never used this many words... or smileys)

You realise you just ruined the illusion of being a magical unicorn :(

Oh dear. One elder mod, 2 cms, and a jirki. This could get out of hand.

Is it Christmas already?
Can i ask for gifts? Or will you sweet mods surprise me?
(Only me though, ignore the other w74 noobs :P)
