You start the game with 26 points and have to build up which is boring.

that's why speed was good but that stopped .........

Nah there's just no variance, the end game is predictable (Oh look the world is split into 3> power blocs and is a massive stalemate) and after three worlds if you've played even just a semi active leadership role you've experienced pretty much the entire meta
