Ever considered that I might have other preferences and make other choices then the SCI Family usually do? As far as I can remember, R2-TRU was formed from a bunch of mergers too, though that doesn't make you personally into a guy who loves merging.
I'm not personally fond of mergers and avoid them if I can, rather stay separated. From my time playing W5 I've been in no tribe that has merged while I was there unless you call the disbanding of R0N and their subsequent joining into other SCI tribes a merger. Note the word tribe, as both V V VK and SCIR0S did a lot of things while I was in V V V+, SP and SCIOVA, but I got no say in their way of conducting business after all.

No DL was the result of VDOS not agreeing to step down as the Duke of LotD. If she would have moved aside then DL would never have been formed at all.
I agree the name is slightly misleading but DL was not formed as a merge. A few players were left in DA who didnt want to stay there and were ready to join LotD. When all the fuss kicked off one of the DA players in particular had a few problems with VDOS so we formed DL as a tool to get rid of her.
I am not even against merges per say I have just had enough of all the completely empty comments spouted around here.

Mmkay, but you have to admit that it looks and sounds a lot like a merge. There's just a slight difference in intent.

I agree it does a bit but the honest situation was that the 2 or 3 remaining members of DA wanted to disband the tribe and they probably planned on leaving themselves. They wanted to join lotd but we had our own problems.
If you look I think DL was made a bit before they joined although Ive not checked :/ and a lot of lotd members did stay and pursue other means of sorting out the problems including myself. If that had been succesful then lotd would have remained and the da guys would have come back.
Anyway its nice to actually discuss this in a manner that doesnt resemble a school yard name calling session.

When people refuse to hit enemies and cause big messes over not beeing allowed to eat inactives as longthat enemies aren't attacked are one of the things she got shit for. But who would really want someone who doesn't attack attack the enemy but eat all your villages?
You always have a leader for each and ever tribe, but that doesn't hinder a low point member to make a larger front operation.
Hell, I feelt a relief when we got ridd of Ralf even if we lost some villages to Pks.
Always remember that issues gets created by something, just because somoene doesn't like another doesn't it mean that you would work less together. I don't like everyone I always speak to, some doesn't like me. Still we work together to go futher. Otherwise it would be the sign of just a overall bad tribe. even without a Duke then a tribe should be able to work. A duke show which path the tribe takes, of course a Duke can always do more. Often the more active who mails everyone. If the tribes goes to worse shapes then the Duke brings it up again.
That's my view of things, the duke is an assurance unless a very active one. Of course if the Baron and members do not act thenthe duke have to.
