I believe that the bottom line is like it or no every strong tribe will end up being part of a family.
No matter how much you resist the family thing when the fighting starts and 2 or more good tribes band together the only way to stop them is for other tribes to do the same.
The question we should be asking is who will hold out the longest and which family will fall soonest?

Now that may be a teeser :icon_biggrin:

Your statements are totally flawed.

Many top tribes stay between 30-50 members for a long time, and do very well for themselves.

W21 as an example has a member limit of 100 and PuFFin stayed around the 40 mark for a good while and now is only around 50 members #2 tribe and possibly the best war machine on that world.

Ok, but w21 doesnt exactly look to be one of the favorite worlds, as it is still very small, so seeing a tribe with 40-50 players in the world as that size could seem predictable, isnt a very good comparison if you ask me

Does it matter how big or small the world is, seriously?

#1 has 72 members #3 has 90+ members.

Mau i also slip in here, PuFFin controlls 4 k's with that many members and has done for some time.

And may i ask what i was comparing it to? i was using it as an exampe, to argue against the point he made about the 40 member limit isnt enough to control a competitive K.

And this was only one example i used because i have experience of that world.

But there are many many more worlds which have low member count tribes doing exceptionally well.

Family tribes this early will always fail. There are many successful worlds with 40 or 60 player limit who have excellent tribes that rule the core with no families, at least not in the core. If you have a family say in k35 of 46, that is understandable, but core tribes with families in the core always fail. check the last 27 worlds for proof....

This thread is from 2008 though.
But he made an (imo) worthwhile contribution to the thread and the forum is indeed on a low, so I'll let it be.

If someone else wants to contribute on the issue, I guess the harm has been done, the thread is necroed, so you can go ahead, but I will be more strict on off-topicness. Nothing else but considerations on the subject. If you can't think of something, don't post.

what's new is old and what's old is new right? Just reading the threads that were there before I joined, but it is prophetic that someone predicted that at some point everyone would join a family.

No, it is not. This entire topic was based upon bitching about how there were families, whoever said that eventually "all" would be quoted a history of what, 60 worlds before it? (including .de and .net). Necroing this shit was totally unnecessary and after the inital necro, everythings been off topic. There is a reason the world let the thread die even though it was only 3 days after it was launched.

Meh, ok, if you really don't want to discuss it, I'll lend a hand and remove the temptation of posting.

Closed. (Don't we all miss good ol' Geschlossen?)
