World Settings question -

Worlds setting say that the troop speed is 1.

My question is it 1x game speed.

Or is it the base 1 that all newwer worlds tend to be around.

and if its the base 1, why even mention it?

Also, are we able to pick direction? or is it random?

@duathi, world speed is 1.2 that means things will build at that speed. troop speed is 1 so troops will move at that speed

i also want to know wether you can choose starting direction...

Tiger,

IN past worlds, "Troop speed" was a multiper of world speed

example

If world speed was 1.5, troops speed is .70 meaning troops traveled at basespeed/(1.5*.70)

in most recent worlds, the travel speed after the math would equal to or atleast close to 1. usually a little less.

in world 26, troop speed is 1.5, and game speed is 1.2 meaning the troops traveled at basespeed / 1.8.

I'm curious if they are going with a faster then basespeed troops in a new world or not.

If so I might be interested in playing seeing how slow troop suck.

Just in case you don't get what I'm talking about.

World 1
Game speed 1, Unit speed 1.
Spears move at 18 minutes per square

World 26
Game speed 1.2, Unit speed 1.5
Spears move at 10 minutes per square

If unit speed is the ONLY thing that effect troops movement then 18/1.5 should equal 10, but it does. it equals 12.

but 18/1.8 does equal 10.

1.2*1.5 = 1.8

World 41
Game speed 1.6, Unit speed .625
Spears move at 18

1.6*.625 = 1
18/1 = 18

Simple math.

Well with village speed being 1.2 and troop speed being 1 that means troops are a little slower then villages.

Dark,

Read my last post.

Troop speed, is the Multiplier that is used to dertermine how fast the troops travel compared to the game speed.

There is no village speed, there is a Game speed.

The world speed determines how fast your troops are built, how fast you get resources, how fast you loyality comes back, basicly... how fast the world runs. Thus the name world speed.

I do not believe they've had a world, were both the world and troop speed were 1 or great in since like 27 or so.

Thats why I'm curious if they are going with a higher speed of troops.

I hope that troop speed isn't a typo. Was waiting for them to stop making all the troop speed 1x.

I think it will be fun.

Most of us can agree that the TW staff won't make one with a setting to make us hope up and down in joy for a while lol

randomized starting location will probably suck alot out of it...

You are the first person to finally confirm it will be random thank you.

He hasn't actually *confirmed* anything >.>

Ask morthy if you really care that much.

Or read another thread, i think it was confirmed that it wouldn't be random there.

It's not random >.>

I asked Jon.

[8:29:47 PM] Wes: Is it a random start or can you pick your direction?
[8:31:41 PM] Morthy: you can pick
[8:36:49 PM] Wes: Alright, thanks Jon

i didnt confirm it lol, its just what i believed due to others saying it, and the lack of "ability to choose starting direction:yes" on the W46 settings, like there is on most other worlds that have it such as W32.

Time based

Edit:

From the Newsletter:

3) Time and point-based morale. Morale is calculated from both the points ratio of the attacker and the defender, and the time played. This calculation is a bit more complicated, so here's a breakdown!

First calculate:

(Defender points / attacker points)*3

Then:

(0.25 + days played * 0.002). If the result is higher than 0.5, use 0.5.

Add those two results together, and multiply by 100 for % morale. If the total is more than 100, morale is 100%.
