I see where you're going with this. Although even if you are behind a few days its still the start of the world. Its all based on luck, your location is very important, you need a good area for farming.
My area is full of active people and we are all farming the same villages. I cleared 3 villages and now they are all being farmed by the others. I have been slowed down by this but it doesn't matter, I know what needs to be built in order to survive the late game. I am 99% sure my area does not.
Yes in the begginning you will be slowed down a bit due to the attack breaks however if you are efficient, and know what you need to do in order to succeed into the late game you will be fine.
Although the fact that you started 2 days after should be no excuse for poor playing skills.
