To be honest, I thought the original one was better. The lighting looked more natural, like the dude was actually interacting with the effects around him. When you take the lighting away, it looks... well, it looks like a shoop.

well now if you look at his hand it no longer looks natural, it is in a very awkward position and on his wrist where the watch is, there is a chunk missing out of it.

its not actually missing, the stock is like that...the colour of the watch coincides with the background colour...

Now I'm afraid the left hand's lightening looks unnatural. You need to lighten that shadow on the sleeve directly adjacent to it to fix that. It may still look slightly unnatural even with that, though.
