the Ancients existed before time was

in the beginning was the Void and the Great Beyond
the Ancients existed in the Great Beyond, the spiritual realm
nothing existed in the Void
the Void was formless and empty, a cosmic canvass

the Ancients created physical matter within the Void
then they breathed life into the physical realm
then time began

the first life forms were simple, single cell organisms
by fusing cells together the Ancients created all manner of plant and animal
the work was finished and considered a masterpiece

then one of the Ancients, the God of Mischief, created mortals

as the Ancients have not yet entered the physical realm, they are celless :icon_eek:

when the Ancients enter into this world, they will adopt the mortal form, though we widely regard the single cell organisms to be superior :icon_neutral:
