Can anyone tell me why I can't add a picture to any posts at all please, I click onto insert Image and copy/paste the link into the drop down box but it won't accept the link and does nothing??

Never mind, found your issue. If you want to do this without clicking the image button, just do this:

If you want to click the image button, click it and uncheck the little checkbox that talks about remote uploads, and it'll work fine.
