Gold Coins

So, apparently we don't retain our gold coins after we've been rimmed on this world.

No snarky comments about me being rimmed. I haven't been, I just started late.

Am I just remembering incorrectly? I was under the impression that on other worlds, we kept our gold coins? I mean, I actually don't think I've ever been rimmed, but from other people I would hear this, etc. Am I wrong?

I'm in the same boat as you,

never been rimmed but thats what i've heard too,
unless on the last village they click restart?

Either way i always thought that we kept the coins. o_O

i thought thats why people would send trains out to barbs on the rim....

Yes, I don't know if it has anything to do with them clicking restart as opposed to just being rimmed.

And thanks to the others for the answers. Personally I had told someone in-game that they would retain their coins, and I now look bad. I suppose that in previous experiences the players must have kept a village somewhere.
