Honestly Dan needs to start hugging, failure to Hug on Dan's part can have disastrous consequences that will most likely result in lower overall happiness and possibly psychological trauma in the future. Growth on the other hand are hugging at unprecedented levels. Their oxytocin levels are at an all time high. I am seriously concerned for Dan, I believe if he learns to use Growths hug against them, by hugging back we can look at a much closer statistics.
