Go to gamestop, while they have holiday deals...used ps2 for 40 bucks here and get a ps3 USB headset.
used ps2 = 40 bucks
ps3 usb headset = bucks
Socom 2 = 5 bucks Socom combined assault = 10 bucks
Plug in and go ftw! The ps3 is a horrible system in general...they have so much to fix with it.

$500 is still a lot to pay too, even if it does come with a blue ray player (I'm guessing thanks to the economies of scale, the manufacturing cost per unit has come down a lot).
Was hoping to get one in the post Christmas "sales" but they're pretty much as expensive as they are the rest of the year "
Let's see if I can get one for my birthday using a few gift certificates "
