I know what they look like..i'm asking how is it done, im aware its CC++ but still not sure how its done for them to come up on the forums.

Pretty sure its not C++.
Someone has to take the time to set it up using some PHP, HTML and JS. They're doing it for free, so lets just be happy that someone bothers at some point.

There is templates for this.
Still doesn't answer my question really, lets say you have the map setup yeah..
How does it go in here, through a link? gif ? its hosted else where...?
I'm the type of person that would bother so would like to know.

I made some ages ago using PHP. The image is simply hosted on whatever your site is and you link to it on the forum.

Alex hosts the images on his own server I believe. The images are JPG I think (not sure, should check) and he simply links the image. Every day around midnight a program generates the new image for every world he supports which replaces the old image (the old image is not saved anywhere) using the same address.
This replacing causes the image linked in the forums to change as well, hence automatically updated maps.
